Take it form someone who has had braces 3 times..
They don't hurt, but your teeth will get sore. After you get them tightened, you will eat soup, pudding, jello, ect for the next few days. It might hurt if the braces on your molars have hooks.. Because they can get snagged in your cheek. It's not completly unbearable, but some tylenol should get rid of it.

I'd wear colors of the season. Stay away from white or clear because they stain and then they look gross.

Good luck.

You'll have pain and discomfort after the braces are on. Eating is a big adjustment. Make sure you have some soft, non-chewable foods. I always liked cold foods, like ice cream and yogurt when my mouth was sore. Pick whatever colors you like for the rubber bands. I usually picked pink or blue. I picked green one time and my teeth looked yellow. Good luck; you'll do fine.

they don't hurt that bad but i would right before going into the othodontics office take some pain reliever. As for colors don't get light colors because they will become brown or grey and nasty, and if you don't want color don't get clear(it will look nasty after a couple of days) get silver.

they will hurt, for like the first few days, i suggest not chewing, and a lot of soup! even yogurt. avoid contact with your teeth as much as possilbe, the first time hurts because of the pressure, so don't worry you'll get used to them in no time! i got mine in august, i got used to the tightening like a few months later.

Oh and if you're not sure... Clear! lol they ran out last time ^_^

unfortunately, you won't be able to eat anything hard for about 3-to 5 days. since the pressure will be sudden on your teeth after your braces are put in, you will feel it. trust me! i've had mine 6 months. :) good luck. its well worth it!

Yes it hurts, take aspirin or tylenol and mouthwash with hydrogen peroxide for the pain. Black.
