I really like this guy, BUT.....?

Question

So there is this guy at my school that I have a HUGE crush on. He's cute, funny, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Just one teeny problem: he's popular, while I'm average (you know, not super popular, but not a geek, just average like most other people).
Is there any chance that he'll ever like me/ask me out?
And how can I tell if he likes me?
Also, how can I get up the courage to just talk (just PLAIN talking, not flirting) to him more in general?
Oh, and I'm not even sure if he has a girlfriend... so how can I find that out as well?
And I haven't told anybody, so I don't think anyone knows (unless they somehow figured it out by my actions).

BTW: I'm in middle school (if that information helps you answer).

I'm in middle school too and your story sounds almost exact to mine.
what i do to talk to the popular guy i like is hang around in my group but get really close to his. i did this for about a week and he finally started to talk with us and now we kinda hang as one big group instead of two seperate ones. He asked me my name a few weeks ago and he told me he didnt want to make it obvious. idk what he meant by that but we have gotten closer and now know eachother better from just trying to get near him. try it and see if your friends will help you out.

well there is a chance he will ask u out. dont worry bout him not liking you because your not popular. if he really is as great as you say he is then that wont matter to him.now talking to him i really dont know what to say but just dont blurt anything out or talk about girlstuff(private girl stuff) to him and you should be ok. oh dont get nervous remember he is just a guy!

same problem here. just start a small convo. it worked for me. i talked to my crush today :D trust me... it works. and as for the gf thing... just ask someone.
