I am taking care of my elderly father, and need to quit my job to do so. I have head that I could get pid for being my father's PCA. Does anyone know if this is tru? BTW: I live in Minnesota.

Tamara H, the price of being with our love ones during their transitional stages may have no price tag, but food, utilities, and rent does, and I taking care of my dad is a full time job.

yes. you can get paid. the state pays you. my grandma watches her mother and she gets paid for it.

Here in Cali you can if the person is recvng SSI...and they pay 250.00 a month...but the reward of being around our loved one during their transitional stages has no price tag

I don't know what it is where you are. I know several people here that are taking care of their parents and getting paid for it. You should check with the different at home care giving agency and see what is said.
