Brown pork chops in a mixture of butter and oil. When chops are browned and caramelized on both sides, put in a casserole dish. Brown one can of mushrooms and add one can of cream of mushroom soup, and 1/2 can of water, scraping up any browned bits. Pour mushroom sauce over the chops and bake until tender.

YUMMY SMOTHERED PORK CHOPS IN MUSHROOM GRAVY

Pork chops or pork steaks (as many as you need)
Butter
Sour cream (16 oz. or 1 lb.)
Mushroom soup 3 cans (10 3/4 oz.)

To prepare pork chops take a frying pan, put in 4 tablespoons butter, while butter is getting hot season pork chops with salt and pepper. Cook pork chops on both sides until brown. Remove and put into baking dish. Do not pour out butter from pan. After meat has been removed add your sour cream (16 ounce) and mushroom soup (3 cans) too butter stirring until all is blended well. After mixed remove from heat and cover. At this time you should put your pork chops into oven and let cook for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. In 30 minutes, pour gravy over pork chops, place back in oven and cook for another 30 minutes. After 1 hour it is ready. It's great served with mashed potatoes, green beans and dinner rolls.
So very good!!!!
Hope this helps..

What I usually do with pork chops Is brown them then put Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup over them and have that with rice and peas on the side with some of the Cream of Mushroom soup "gravy" over the pork chops and the rice (yummm!).

just made this last night!!

-season pork with rosemary and garlic, and fry or grill thoroughly
-in separate pan, sautee butter and chopped onions
-chop up a peeled apple (or two) into small cubes
-once onions are softened, throw in apple cubes and sautee
-add a bit of brown sugar.. this thickens the sauce and makes it tastey

serve the apple/onion sauce over the chops... delicious... not really a low calorie recipe but it is awesome!
