Yes it is a fruit. But believe it or not a tomato is a vegetable, according to the supreme court! I copied this from the page that can be reached with the third link below:
"The merits of the ongoing question, "is it a fruit, or is it a vegetable?", have even found its way before the bench of the United States Supreme Court which ruled unanimously in Nix v. Hedden, 1883, that a tomato is a vegetable for the purposes of 1883 Tariff Act even though botanically, a tomato is a fruit."

They say tomato is a fruit because it grows on trees. Green peppers are a vegetable.

Our science teacher told us anything with seeds is a fruit.
Ok alec C I guess my science teacher(who is the hardest f..ing teacher I have ever had, she thinks she is teaching a colege class and it is only highschool, but that is besides the point)Iguess she is wrong about a simple Q as whether or not a green pepper is a fruit or veggie.

All peppers are fruit, and tomatos do not grow on trees as a previous poster said how dumb can you get. They grow on vines.

a tomato is only a fruit because the government wanted to collect more tariffs on them. The rate on vegtables was lower at the time.

It's a fruit if it comes from a flower (blossom) - the ripened ovary of the plant.
So yes - peppers are fruit as well.
