I've recently bought and grown "cat grass" from my local petsmart. My cat loves it, but for the past few days he's been throwing up. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I know that grass is supposed to help with digestion, but for some reason, could it be making him sick? It says its supposed to be safe, etc., but I'd like other's opinion who have delt with this before.

Thanks in advance! :)

cat grass is good for them, sometimes a good puke is good for what ails us, goes for cats too. i think it is supposed to make them toss up what is in there that ain't supposed to be in there, and won't go through to the other end., but i'm not sure...though i've not been very concerned about grass making my cat toss her cookies sometimes, i figure she's a cat and knows what she's doing eating the grass and all...and sometimes tossing up the grass and all...(ikkkk)

Most cats are fine with the cat grass, but with the occasional cat, vomiting does occur. Stop giving her the grass for a few days, if the vomiting stops, you'll know that it was the cause. If the vomiting persists, or gets worse, contact your veterinarian.

It's part of the digestion process for cats. I bought cat grass for my cat to help with the fur balls on the advice of the vet - she wouldn't touch it, so I tried 'Kat-e-lax' instead (again from the vet). She loves the taste, caramel, and its a damn site easier than growing grass and breaks up the furballs in her tummy. Happy cat - happy cat owner :)

Don't worry this is a common side affect from eating grass,
I walk my cat on a leash and she loves to stop and munch on the green stuff,
grass weeds ect. and she has never failed to cough up a hairball later.
Just make sure to wipe it up right away letting it sit there will stain your carpet.

I hope I've helped.

Animals sometimes eat grass to throw up. By throwing up, they will get rid of something that's making them sick in the first place.

Just because your cat throws up doesn't necessarily mean it's sick.

have you ever heard of a person eating so much until he pukes? this is kinda the same concept with cats, too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. it can help with some cats, but some get naseous from it. if you use it, use it as a treat once in a while and in moderation.
