every year they invite me to their house and the foods taste horrible, it seems like the party was torture ...i don't want to be mean about it because i love them , i just don't like their foods and the party always lasts too long and i'm tired and i don't have all the time in the world to waste in a party.

tell me all the possible excuses to tell them that i can't go to their dumb party.

their place is really far away from my place, so everytime i have to make a trip to see them, it takes a very long time to get there. that's one of the reasons,too....

I have a great book "How to Say It"
I looked up "refusals" and in short here's an idea of how to politely decline...

Thanks so much for your invitation, I really appreciate your asking me, unfortunately (I/We) can't make it this time, we have a prior commitment (or just .. we'll be unable to make it).
Maybe we can get together soon for dinner to make up for it..

Don't over explain, keep the reason minimal and offer to get together another time..(If you want to)
Short and sweet, you don't owe them a huge explanation, they'll be happy knowing you still want to get together.

You don't even need to come up with an excuse, hon. Just tell them that you won't be able to attend this year, that you're sorry and that you hope you can see each other soon. If they're super-nosy and ask why you can't come, tell them you have a prior engagement, and that it's a personal one. They won't ask further into it than that.

Plan an evening out for the night of the party. Then call them and tell them that you are unable to attend this year because you have made other plans for that night.

Say you have a mid term paper due if you are in school. Or you are working on a project for work that has a deadline you must meet. Fake sick, or say that a family member needs help moving the day of the party. That one always works...

You don't need to give an excuse. If you don;t want to attend, simply say

"Thank you so much for asking me, unfortunately, I'm not able to attend"

This way, they know you appreciate the invite (even if you don't). If they ask why, you don't have to answer, just say that you won't be able to attend. If they have manners, they won't push.

Just remember - if they keep asking, you should go to one in a while!

You are feeling a little dizzy and you feel like your going to be sick and if you have to see them the next day just say it must have been a 24 hr thing or something you ate. Works everytime

Tell them that you had a previous engagement.

Tell them that your going away that weekend.

Tell them that you don't like their parties and that their food taste like crap, then laugh it off, and say you were only kidding. They would probably uninvite you anyway.
