Of Course not. Christianity, and almost every other organzied religion does not value women. I've never understood why women are willing to follow such male chauvenistic traditions.

I think that you are confused about what submission really is all about. Being submissive is not being a doormat! And true Christian Husbands know better than to abuse that privilege!
I only recently understood that being submissive doesn’t make me less of an equal. In fact I feel very valued and even more proud to be a woman now that I understand my role as a woman, wife & mother, and my husband values my opinion more so now than before, now he sees I am not attacking his authority but trying to shed light on something he may not have seen or understood. My dad was always a guy who said that I could be what ever I wanted to. I feel that his comment though well intentioned began my confusion about the equality of men & women. Do I think that women should have the right to vote, serve in the military and work? Absolutely! But do I need to be able to do everything a man does to be seen as his equal? No!
My husband happens to be physically stronger than me, perhaps yours is or you may know a guy who is? Does that make you feel less equal? We all have different abilities, and those abilities help us with the things we need to do. At one time I longed to be a model, but I am 5’3’’ 150 lbs, hardly model material, but does that make me lesser than the women who are super models? No. That was, despite my longing, not what I was supposed to do. Short or tall, fat or thin, man or woman, we are all human and therefore all equal, just because other humans like to make themselves feel better about themselves by putting others down, doesn’t mean we are not equal. God looks at us all the same; he could care less about your status among other humans. Just like on earth we have Jobs, God has given us jobs too, and mans job was to lead, protect & provide. A woman job was to be his helper!
It is very hard for two people to lead in the same direction because though your goal may be the same, the argument over how to get there will prevail.
I appreciate my husband so much! I am a stay at home mom by choice! I love it. I do not feel unequal in my home because I don’t bring home a paycheck, I am perfectly happy accepting ALL that my husband does or doesn’t provide. I have money to buy food & clothes, we have a home that he built with his two hands (literally) over my head, and someone to love me, protect me & provide for me. From my submissiveness I feel special to not only have all of that but appreciate it too!
Some good books if you want to take a look at this subject from the “submissive’s” point of view are: The Excellent Wife by Martha Peace & The Surrendered Wife by Laura Doyle.

Actually the Bible tells both husbands and wives to submit to each other, but that is in the bedroom.
I don't think you are referring to that though. The Bible is God's word. If you don't like the way He had it written, I guess eventually you will get to see Him and after you are in front of Him I think you will have other thoughts about more important matters.

We would be in the same position that we are now. Women are suppose to be the mans companion not there equal. So if God made women first men would be there companion not there equal. It would not have made a difference.

All that garbage about submission and not speaking in church wasn't in the original Bible. Those things were later additions (most went in about 3-400) because the church leaders didn't think the religion put women in their place effectively.
So they changed the religion to fit their patriarchal, male chauvinist tendencies.
Bad church leaders!
Jesus was nice to everybody. He was persecuted and eventually killed.
So, no, I don't think it would have been that popular if church leaders hadn't altered it to their liking.

Basically it just means men and women are supposed to respect, love, honor each other.I.........think I herd somewhere where it did say women submit to your husbands. But you will always have males that will twist it to mean what they want,to get what they want.

It's not up to humans to question God. And if one would read the bible for themselves they's know that God wants us to work together and submit to each other.....Everything in life needs structure....
