someone who sells the product to the public. a promoter of a fight understands marketing and sells the fighters appeal and potential. the bigger promoters have more money behind them, and that means more marketing and public awareness.

it's mainly like an agent who handles scheduling, tour dates, meet and greets.

they basically set up the events and do a lot of the shakin' hands and breakin bread with people in the different industries who can handle the financial backing of whoever the promoter is representing.

they often set up and work out deals for their clients.
