i'm in high school adn there's a girl who has a locker close to mine and i'd really like to ask her out for valentine's day but i'm not sure how on such short notice...is it still a good idea? i don't know her name or anything about her, and she's a year younger than me, so waht's a good way to break the ice and make conversation? thansk...

well, i'd say don't ask her out for valentines day since.. well, you've never even spoken before. it's usually a good idea to get to know someone (even just a little) before starting a relationship.

but as for breaking the ice.... you said her locker's by yours, so just go up and say hi. If you're too shy to do this, (I know I'd be!) then you could accidently bump into her in the hall before/after school, or something. Then, after an apology... voila! Introduce yourself, and take it from there =o)

She's younger than you? Right, simple solution. DON'T BOTHER! Any girl younger than you is likely to be an immature little brat, and quite frankly you don't need that. As for short notice, if fate decides you're a match then timing isn't important.
