If you were not a full time student for at least 5 months of 2006, then you can't be claimed as a dependent for that year. If you were, and you didn't provide more than half of your own support, then you can be. There is a worksheet on page 32 of IRS Publication 17 (download it at irs.gov) for calculating support to see who is paying how much of your support, you or your parents.

I am assuming that with a full-time job, you made over $3300 for the year. If you didn't, then your parents might still be able to claim you even if you weren't a student.

To be claimed as a dependent, you must have lived at home for all of 2006, earned less than $3,300 in gross income, and been dependent upon your parents for more than half of your support.

If you had a full-time job for much of 2006, you would almost certainly have earned over $3,300 and therefore can not be claimed as a dependent by your parents any more.

If you parents provided at least 50% of your support, yes you can. However, it will make your taxes higher because you get less of a deduction on your own return.
