Photosynthesis (photo=light, synthesis=putting together), generally, is the synthesis of sugar from light, carbon dioxide and water, with oxygen as a waste product.
It is arguably the most important biochemical pathway known; nearly all life depends on it. It is an extremely complex process, comprised of many coordinated biochemical reactions. It occurs in higher plants, algae, some bacteria, and some protists, organisms collectively referred to as photoautotrophs.
It occurs in the presence of light / Sunlight ONLY.
Photosynthesis uses the energy of light to make the sugar, glucose. A simple general equation for photosynthesis follows.
6 CO2 + 6 H2O + photons → C6H12O6 + 6 O2
carbon dioxide + water + light energy → glucose + oxygen
Photosynthesis occurs in two stages.
In the first phase light-dependent reactions or photosynthetic reactions (also called the Light reactions) capture the energy of light and use it to make high-energy molecules.
During the second phase, the light-independent reactions (also called the Calvin-Benson Cycle, and formerly known as the Dark Reactions) use the high-energy molecules to capture carbon dioxide (CO2) and make the precursors of glucose.

Photosynthesis occurs both during the day and very little at night(this is termed the dark reaction).
You can look it up if you like

Photosynthesis is a two part reaction. The light dependent reaction occurs when sufficient light is available to drive it. The second part of the photosynthesis reaction is the light-independant reaction called the Calvin cycle. This is when CO2 is transformed into glucose. This occurs constantly.

If you knew what photosynthesis was, you could work out the answer.
Photosynthesis is when a plant makes food out of light and air.
Try and remember that.

The clue is in the word photosynthesis.
It needs light , hence takes place during the day.

photosynthesis is the use of light to grow so i would assume it is during the day that it would occur. but then again science was my fav subject in school so i could be wrong not the sarcasm

During the day...check out your textbook, should have a chemical equation for photosynthesis, one of the reactants/requirements is light.

Photosynthesis happens in the light.
The light may be daylight or artificial light from bulbs, so it isn't always tied to time of day.
