The highest possible opening score in Scrabble, is 118 points for muzjiks.

You have to place it so that the K is on the Double letter score, the first word is also doubled, because the center star is a pink double word score, plus the 50 point bonus for using all seven tiles.

A minority of human skeletons possess an anomalous feature called a sternal foramen, which is a perfectly round hole in the center of the sternum resembling a gunshot, but is distinguishable from a gunshot by the beveled edges on both the anterior and posterior borders of the foramen, as opposed to beveling only on the anterior border as with a gunshot, as well as by the smoothness of the edges, where with a gunshot the edges are jagged.

I do not follow any kind of religion. I follow Jesus. When I asked Holy Spirit in my heart it made all the difference. I am still a rotten piece of work but He loves me. I stay in contact with him through His Word, the Bible ( I believe it is inspired word of God ), and through prayer. I did not feel His presence until I gave my life to Him. He was around me, it was just I did not feel Him until I surrendered. I accepted that Jesus died for my sins, and when you do not have this sin issue hindering your relationship, I started to feel Him.

Sin is anything that is not God's will for us. So we are sinners but when we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, He does not refer us as sinners anymore, we are forgiven. That feels great. So Christianity is more like a relationship thing instead of religion. Jesus is alive and well and His Spirit is within us. He really answers prayers when we seek Him. : )

Well, these are my life facts and info in a nutshell.

The Shaker religion is very interesting.
The Shakers were best known for the fervor of their worship services. Like the Quakers, Shakers would sit in silent meditation, waiting to be “moved by the Spirit,” but the Shakers’ response to this spiritual power was to tremble violently (hence “Shakers”) and to spin and dance. Under the influence of the holy Spirit they engaged in group ring dances, marches, singing and shouting, speaking in tongues (glossolalia), prophecy, faith-healing, miracle-working, and spiritual trances, often accompanied by visons.

Jeeeezus, what a bunch of not so interesting stuff! How about this... mormons wear green aprons with their white suits when they go in their temple. The men wear a hat that resembles the pillsbury doughboy... (if a mormon sees this, they'll delete this question, so my apologies in advance).

Edit: Ooops...some interesting stuff got posted while I wrote this. My apologies...

The New York Times has a story about a geologist who got his Ph.D. from U. Rhode Island even though he was (and is) a young-earth-creationist -- AND his thesis committee knew it, and signed off on his sheepskin anyway.

"He's done perfectly good science," was their assessment. "It's not our business to judge what he believes, only what he knows."

Okay, fair enough. But: If you have reason to suspect that he's lying about what he really believes, that he's just going through the motions of science -- then what's your responsibility?

And what decent school of graduate studies really wants to see its alumni teaching at (shudder) Jerry Falwell's Liberty University?
