First, I'm very sorry for your loss.
You can have a photograph at the wedding or at the reception. No one *has* to give you away. You don't *have* to have a father daughter dance. We didn't do any of that and didn't feel that we missed out on anything.
If you really want someone to give you away, ask your mother. If you aren't comfortable with that, then walk down the aisle all on your own.
Have an all one colour bouquet and then have one flower of a different colour representing your father (maybe in his favourite colour or flower). This way he'll be with you. : )

I'm sorry about your dad. Must be devastating. My dad is alive and well, but I wasn't sure if he was going to make it to my wedding as he lives half-way across the globe. It all worked out, he was able to come in time for the wedding, so he got to walk me down the aisle. But had he not been there, it would have been my matron-of-honor's husband who would "give me away" - a long story, but these two have been like a family to me for several years now; so it's always been talked about how he would "give me away" as my "american dad".
If I had more of my extended family near me, I would consider any respected relative to walk me down the aisle - be it a grandparent, an uncle, even my mom (why does it have to be a male?) Or, if nothing came to mind, I would skip the "giving away" part altogether, and structure the ceremony a little differently. There's really no "rule" that says that someone must give you away at all, it's just a tradtional way to do it.
Congratulations.

Do you have a best friend? An uncle on your dad's side who would be honored to be in that position? Grandfather perhaps? It doesn't always have to be a male individual to do this for you.
I'd definetely honor your father. Is there going to be a reception after the wedding? Just say a couple words like, I don't know, like: At this time I would like to thank my father for everything he did for me, for being the example of the type of man I should have in my life. Although he is not physically here with us today, I believe he is here in spirit and he is smiling down on me and my choice to live the rest of my life with my husband. *raise glass* To my father for everything he did for me.
I guess what I'm trying to say is find some words that describe you're feelings for your father, be positive of course. I believe that our fathers are the blueprint for the type of men we marry, they have a huge influence on that.
Don't know if that helps...... Best wishes!

I'm sorry for the lose of your father. I hope there is someone in your life that is special to you. They don't have to be male and they don't have to be family. Someone who would know how important giving you away would mean to you and your father. They would only be stepping in for your father, the rightful person to give you away. Don't forget, your father will be there with you that special day in your heart and for the rest of your life. You could also have someone say a little something about your father and the fact that he is here in your hearts today for this wonderful event.

Are you close with your godfather? Do you have a brother who you are close with? These to me, would be the best choice. Pick a member of the family who you are close with an would like to honor on your day. it does not have to be a man - it could be your mother too! My Faincee considered havin both her parents walk her down.
My grandmother and Aunt passed away from Breast cancer. I was VERY close to both. My faince and donated to money to funding mamograms for those who cannot afford them in their honor. We purchased pink braclets for everybody to where also in their memory.
If he had a favorite charity or was killed by a Drunk Driver, donate to that cause.

a brother, an uncle, close family friend. Had I been in that situation, I would have asked my mom, to give me away. It's your wedding, one of the most memorable days in your life, so I would pick whoever you want, man or woman!!!
Congrats!!!!!!!!
