he is racing against 42 of the best drivers in NASCAR.i dont think he has raced in a race with that many cars in his career.
he did do well in the arca race at talledega last year, but then again, not the quality of drivers there as in nascar.
i think he will finish top 15.no better than 10th place
of course this is if there is no problems with his car

Well let's look at this rationally.
Juan Pablo is driving for Chip Gannasi Racing with Felix Sebates and that team hasn't put out the best equipment the last few years. However, last year saw Casey Mears drive the #42 to 2nd in the Daytona 500 and lead laps at Talladega. This year Ganassi's Chargers (with their newly approved nose modification) are testing even faster at Daytona. I think Juan will have a faster car in the 500 than Casey did last year.
The one thing going against Juan is his rookie status. It is less likely that the veterans will want to draft with JPM or race that much around him. If Juan can stay away from the Ward Burton's of this world (guys who rough up rookies just because they can) then he'd be smart to lock on and push a faster veteran to the front.
Rookies finishing well at Daytona is not unheard of - Jeff Gordon and Scott Wimmer both had top 5 finishes their first 500. Juan has the talent to have a very good run and crew chief Donnie Wingo always makes those Ganassi Dodges fly!

Wow, some people need to watch more racing...
Juan Montoya will run very well in the Daytona 500. I really think he will do fairly well at many of the tracks on the schedule. As long as he can avoid wrecks and have good pit stops all day and no mechanical problems occur on his #42, I think he will be able to get a solid top 15, maybe even a top 10.
Also, it's restrictor plate racing as well. It's kinda like putting 43 car numbers on pieces of paper and pulling them from a hat to decide the finishing order...

Juan Montoya will win the Daytona 500 by being pushed by Jr. and spinning out Tony Stewart for the last lap lead. Columbians rule!

Top 5 or 10. He was really strong in his practice runs. So definately top 15 or10. might make a top 5 or possible 2. My guess is, since he's still not that used to how a stock car handles at Daytona, esspecially not for 500 miles, he won't get the win, but will be pretty close to it.

I guess Juan Pablo was a Columbian, and he challenged with David Ragan, who is the son of Ken Ragan. Juan Pablo made a good top ten finishers.

Montoya has a lot to learn. He seems to have a very quick learning curve. Driving in NASCAR is somewhat like moving from real collegiate wrestling to the TV Brawl, known as WWE - or some such - If he does not get run off th track, or wrecked, he could finish very high.

If he can avoid the Big One, there's a pretty good chance that he will be challenging for the win for much of the race.
My prediction? Top 15, it's hard to predict a good finish for a rookie, though I think Montoya is better than just a rookie, but nowhere near a veteren.
