My Passport has recently expired, I am not sure if my new passport will arrive soon and I need to travel to Cork. Will I be turned away at the Airport.
I am a UK homeowner with full proofs of ID for over 50 years. I have a UK photo ID Driving license. I needto fly from Birmingham.

photo driving i.d is fine - i'm afraid to say bexs is talking out of her hole - you'll get nowhere leaving the uk with an out of date passport. you don't need any i.d to travel between continental europe (i.e flying from germany to spain) but you'll need your passort to leave the uk until brits get a photo i.d card. the uk has a reciprocal agreement with ireland and any form of official photo i.d is accepted.

If you or your daughter are relying on an expired passport then don't risk it. Airports require valid photo ID, Ryanair require a valid passport. The ports don't always ask for ID but if they do stop you then you'd best have it of some description, driving licence will do. If your daughter is a minor (under 16) then she needs her own passport, she can no longer be included on your passport. An out of date passport is about as much use as toilet paper.

No you should not be turned away. Take your old passport with you if you still have it and your driving licence. As long as you are travelling in Europe, you can use your old passport for up to 12 months (it could be a bit more or a bit less than this!).

If you travel with Aer Lingus, all you need is your driving licence with photo ID. You should be OK with other airlines, but check first.
