you can't be color blind. you need excellent vision and test scores. going to the academy will help as well.

You have to be in a comissioning program. After that the qualification is broken down as follows:

Commander's Ranking - 50%
Physical Fitness Test Score - 10%
Grade Point Average - 15%
AFOQT (Officer Qualifying test) Score / flight experience/TBAS test score - 15%
Field Training Ranking - 10%

The number one qualifier is how well your commander ranks you, that one is certainly 50% of you pilot candidate score.
