what would cause eyelashes to suddenly fall out? My chin has plenty where I shouldn't but eyelashes are gone

I can't believe it one day I woke up and half of my eyelashes were missing. Today they are coming off the other eye.. Why in the world would this happen. I am not on any medication.... on the other hand I now have twice the female lip hair and a lot of chin hair go figure. I think this is disgusting and very unbecoming, since I have always been very feminine looking with ong beautiful lashes and clean skin. I am 47 this year. Is this hormones or punishment for growing old!!!

See a doctor.

I knew someone who drank a lot of milk and had no eyelashes. When she stopped drinking it, they grew back in. then she started again and they fell out again.

Also, I think there's a tiny mite that can cause it.

As for your other facial hair--that's usually caused by too much testosterone (male hormone).

Definitely see a doctor. If you have mites or something, you want it treated before it gets any worse.

I'm 50 and don't have these problems. Neither are they common among older women, so it's not age.

Go to your regular Doctor to get your thyroid checked. Hair loss in those areas can be a sign of medical problems. And a problematic thyroid can have similar symptoms of menopause..hair loss and growth in weird places.
If that isn't the problem see a dermatologist. As it could be connected with a skin problem. Since you aren't on any hormone replacement or other menopause medications. I would get it checked out by your doctor.

I had a friend that had no eyelashes. It was because she had an allergy, but I don't remember what she was allergic to. I hope that helps. Your doctor can help you further. By the way, I'm 34, and I don't think 47 is old, not by a long shot.
