I would like to put a nice sound system in my 99 buick century because the current stock speakers are not good at all. I recently installed a cd deck but I still need to buy speakers. I would like some good bass but I also want quality sound. I dont know much about car audio except that i need mid range door speakers, tweeters, subwoofers, and an amplifier to get a well balanced system. I was wondering what would be the best for 800 dollars or less.

what ur gunna need to do is get a 4 channel amp for your compnent speakers kenwoods or mtx or alpine are nice. For your component speakers i would go with polk momo or infinita kappa series. Just make sure that the RMS of ur amp matches up to the RMS of the component speakers. That should tune up to about 400 or 500 dollars. and for a subs you could get a MTX or JL audio and pair(amp) it with a hifonics or kicker amp. the sub and amp together should not cost more than 300 dollars. and there is your 800 dollars. if u are going for sound quality i would go with a 10" sub if u want it to be louder and have lower bass i would go with a 15" and obviously if u want good sound quality and a pretty loud sub go with a 12" sub. for all this u should check out ebay if u know exactly what u want or check out crutchfield.com to see what u want and refrence their prices to what u can find on ebay a lot of times ebay has better prices. good luck.

The recent answer was a bit OFF TOPIC? Maybe it's just me.

But for a sound system under 800 that will sound decent... I suggest you get good speaks (kenwoods all around), just one 15" sub (I don't think you would want to blow off your roof but if that's what you want and have the money for then two 12s), an amp, an EQ will be helpful but not necessary, and tweeters too but they are also not too necessary but nice to have. You can go to www.crutchfield.com. They have good quality systems and products for a really decent price. I'd suggest MTX or JBL for the subs.

Why do people insist on installing a stereo in the car that is better than the one at home? My advice is a good radio/cd player that will play mp3's. If you have an iPod then an iPod cable would be great. The entire system including installation should be less than $500.

especially loud. I open the sunroof for optimal result. That Bose sound device they put in the Infinity FX is somewhat marvelous! as quickly as I get to be 60, i'm gonna blast the rock and roll so human beings will think of i'm deaf. I in all probability would be via then! enable's see, sixteen years to flow!
