I believe unicorns do not exist. I think that anyone who believes in unicorns is stupid. It bothers me when you even say that word. I think we should take that word out of the dictionary because it's so wrong and misleading.

People who actually believe in it should be shot for being so stupid. When will these people wake up out of their baggage?

Why are some people who don't believe in God offended by the very thing they don't believe in?

Well, I think maybe you just don't understand the unicorns...

Sorry - couldn't resist. Look, I've learned that it's often not God that offends Atheists. What offends them is when religious groups attempt to force their religion on everyone and try to legislate certain religious doctrine as law. That's a large part of what most Atheists have against religion. If people would quit trying to shove their theistic beliefs on the Atheists, they probably wouldn't mock your God as much. If you'll notice, very rarely do they attack Pagans etc... The reason for that (while they have no belief in or interest in our invisible Gods either - and probably think we're just a wacked as any other theist) is that we don't shove our deities at them and tell them that they have to, should or will believe. We leave them alone and let them not believe because not believing is not a crime.

We also don't attack science and try to force our religions into public schools.

I think you answered your own question. You don't believe in unicorns, but yet you are offended by the word and believe that everyone who believes in unicorns are stupid.

Replace unicorns, with god, and you with athiests and essentialy you answered your own question!

They offend you because they are foreign to you and you have made up your mind about their non-exsistence. You find that anyone who does believe in unicorns to be an idiot. This is the same with god and athiests they do not believe therefore are offended by it, especially those whom try to force their religion on them.

I mean how would you feel if I started blasting you with all kinds of proof that unicorns existed and that you "have to" believe they exist or you are going to "hell" where you will be tortured for eternity! How does that make you feel!!?!? Yeah see why god offends athiests....exactly, its not god himself, its those that believe and try to rub it in your face that are offensive.

It's ok though. I don't believe in Unicorns and I am agnostic when it comes to religion, so I can listen and provide in almost any religious conversation. I am not offended by anyone or anything (when it comes to religion), except those that make me try to change my own beliefs.

Unicorns (which are in the bible) don't offend because nobody is trying to pass laws or policies based on what some Unicorn was supposed to have said thousands of years ago.

Unicorns believe in you.

They're not offended by the god, they're offended by the followers.

Who said that God offends atheists? A person can't be offended by something they don't believe exists.
What does offend atheists is when they are told that they should live their lives based on a religious doctrine someone else chose to follow.

I am not offended by your belief or disbelief on God or Unicorns. I am indifferent to your beliefs in God or Unicorns.

I get offended when people try to tell my children they have to believe in Unicorns. or God. And I get offended when public tax dollars are used to display your belief in Unicorns or God in the public sphere.

God doesn't offend me. His followers do.

I get offended when I hear that the God business is being taught in public school science classes. I get upset because 2 men or 2 women who love each other very much can't be married because it will upset the god crowd.

I despise the fact that a couple of my friends are risking their lives in Iraq because George Bush heard a voice telling him to go to war. Serving one's country is a noble job; being forced into killing folks because your leader hears voices is inexcusible.

I abhore the fact that "god's will" has been used to keep women from voting, having a real career, and being able to live as singles without being openly critisized in the media.

People who believe in God aren't offended by God. We are offended by those who do believe in God who take every opportunity to tell us that we are wrong and going to hell. Your deacon to not believe in unicorns is your decision, and I respect that. It's your choice to believe( or not believe) in unicorns, and it's my choice to believe or not to believe in God.

... since when does the Christian god offend Atheists? The god doesn't exist so there's no reason to be offended by it. Atheists are not offended by any god, they're offended by Christian followers.

Not once has any Atheist ever asked that the word god be removed from a dictionary.

I think you're trolling.
