I feel like I have a headache but my head is not hot, I am developing a stuffy nose, and my stomach aches in such a way that it is causing my back to ache too. I also feel weakness in my legs and I woke up this morning in pain and sweating all over. If I sit down the pain is not quite as noticable, but I still feel perpetually sick. I am in college and my father is staying with his mother and his mother has the flu, and this weekend my father came and got me and I stayed at his mother's house for the weekend. My father did offer to take me for a flu shot when he went to get his, but I declined as I am terrified of needles, plus I am 21 so I assumed I would be less succeptible to the flu. But based on the symptoms I have described, do you think I have the flu? And if I do have the flu will the symptoms remain only as bad as they currently are, or are they going to get worse in the coming days?

the dorm room is perpetually hot, so it is not uncommon for me to wake up sweating. But I don't think my sweating has ever been accompanied by this kind of sickness in my stomach and weakness in my legs. And I know my grandma had the flu, so I suppose I could have got it from her when I was staying at her house. If I do have the flu I just want to know if my symptoms will get any worse because I have 3 classes during the day tomorrow, plus a tap dance class at night, and it is very important that I attend all of them.

Also, I do not have any medicine to take except ibuprofin and some of those pms pills from family dollar. And I really can't afford to buy anything at the little store on campus. The stuff there is just too expensive.

Sounds like the flu to me. I am a medical assistant in a Dr office and those are classic symptoms. I would get plenty of clear liquids in you (ie: chicken broth, apple juice, 7-up or Sprite) and do your best to stay hydrated. Orange juice and vitamin C tablets will help knock it out pretty fast too even though the common duration time to have the flu is 3-4 days. Just do yourself a BIG favor and don't try to overdo things. The more you rest, the faster you will heal because the body does the majority of its healing when you're resting and that doesn't necessarily mean sleeping either. Just laying down and relaxing and not trying to be up and active. If you have insurance, see a Dr or try to find a clinic that can see you with a fee based on income or something if you want a second opinion. I have to say though, those are classic signs of flu. You may want to ease the symptoms by getting some over the counter meds like Contact Cold and Flu or Advil Cold and Sinus. Things like that will make the symptoms subside so you can focus on the things you need to do. Good Luck and I really hope you feel better soon. I know it really sucks to be sick!

Sounds like you got something...I'd take it easy if I were you. Classes may be okay for you to go to, although most professors are fine with you missing them if you are sick (just let them know and see what they say), and I don't think you should go to tap class if you are feeling weak.
