And, how the Bush administration is using the same lies of the 1960's administrations to escalate the Vietnam war. I think being concerned about Iran is justified, but how do we not know this is another bunch of lies by the Bush administration to invade Iran?

Two other things come to mind: The first is that I'm presuming that everyone now knows that Valerie Plame was investigating Iran and possible nukes in that country before she was outed by the Cheney regime. And, That the entire region of the mid-east is involved in Iraq. Iran is selling arms to Iraq through the black market and that it isn't necessarily through it's government.
And, second, that Saudi's are selling arms to the Sunni's in Iraq as well. Saudi ARabia and Iran hate eachother.
Now, in light of this, do you really think this entire region's problem can really be solved militarily? It seems the war has made matters100 times worse in destabilizing.

Excellent summation, the comparisons to Vietnam are like a flashback, the protests are giving some good resistance, but Bush has no concern for the opinions of the people. Now he is eyeing Iran, and their army won't run away like Iraq. Our soldiers are strained to the max, and their families are suffering, because this maniac will not admit that he has made the worst policy blunder in history. He must be stopped by the people, calling writing protesting peacefully. If we can end this war just one day earlier than planned, it will save some American soldiers and Iraqi civilians. ..............Cheney is the monster , the Ugly American who will stop at nothing to reach his evil intentions, everyone knows he gave the order to out Valerie Plame, but he is above the law. Just pray we can make it to the next election, and the Congress takes a stand.

Commander McCain knows more about Vietnam than any other politician in this country. Clinton was a 100% draft dodger. Kerry, Bush, and Gore were de facto draft dodgers. I doubt that you could have endured even one of his better days in captivity, cupcake. You can read about something and talk to people who may have had first hand accounts of something, but until you experience something yourself, you are clueless and dangerous.

Commander McCain is the only one who will be able to get America on track and curb terrorism. The democrats will have Iranian nukes going off in our cities with their care-free attitude. Robertson and Falwell will pray for defense. Ging-grinch will pontificate as DC burns. Rudy will be out running around with the firemen.

1st - Maybe since you do not know if it is lies, you should leave it to the military intelligence & President who have the knowledge & the power of the people. It does not matter who you personally voted for, the people of the United States elected President Bush not once but twice. There was no stealing votes as the Democrats watched like hawks for them.
2nd - Plume & her husband should have kept their big fat mouths shut. It seems every reporter knew & by different sources. Some secret, you only missed my sister in law to spread the news. Using her "power" to get her husband a job was sure to out her.
Plume was a pencil pusher - nothing more. The most excitement she has seen is this trial.
No way to know what would have happened without war. I doublt
Iran would have just sat there content. I do not think the area was made worse as they have never had peace.

If Iran was just one of the shiit disturbers in Iraq, I would agree with you. However, Iran is the logistics, finances, arms supplier for Hezbollah in it's quest to unseat the democratic government in Lebanon. It is also the catalyst for Hezbollah in it's continued activity along the Israel border, not to mention the fact that it supplies Hamas in it's attempt to keep up the skirmishes in Gaza and against Fatah, the only government that has been able to make progress in its negotiations with Israel.

It's very likely that Iran is the main supplier of the Taliban, this of coarse would tie them in with al Queda, not just in Iraq, but in Afghanistan, too!

From what I can see, you may have hit the ice burg, but you've only touched the tip! Military rule will be the only rule these people will honor and respect. Why, do you really think diplomacy will work, Madeline?

"Cheney regime" Sounds like you've been listening to too many paranoid rants on a San Francisco street corner.

First of all, there is no regime in USA and it appalling to victims of real dictators that you would say so. Secondly ,Bush is our president and not Cheney.

In addition, it was Richard Armitage - Colin Powell's chief of staff who opposed the war and neo-cons in the administration - who leaked Valerie Plame's name to Bob Novak.

To answer your question -- were you upset and mad when Bill Clinton bombed Iraq in December 1998 for having WMD?

I didn't think so.

Just like Vietnam this is being swayed by public opinion. It's war there are no rules. The press needs to get out of the way and let the military machine do it's job. PC does not work during wartime. Force needs to be met with greater and more brutal force.

Our war with Iran is loooonggg overdue! We should have flattened Iran in 1976. They are the source of all middle eastern misery and terrorism.

McCain is selling his soul and his convictions to try to win the Republican nomination. He's cozying up to the neocons and the religious terrorists (aka evangelicals) in this country to get their votes. He should be ashamed of himself - I've lost all respect for him.

I assume you want us to use the good old hand outs methods that Carter and Clinton used? Where did that get us. Yeah, yeah, I know they called it diplomacy. Call it what ever you like. It got a lot of innocent people killed for nothing.

I'd till support McCain over any liberal...But then I'd support my dog for president over a liberal so that isn't saying a lot.

Has it ever occurred to you the the claims that 'Bush lied' may themselves be lies?

When you apply a standard to other people - make sure that you would not mind having it applied to _yourself_.
