The great majority of moles are harmless, but in rare cases, moles may become cancerous. Monitoring moles and other pigmented patches is an important step in the diagnosis of skin cancer, especially malignant melanoma. Although not all melanomas develop from pre-existing moles, many begin in or near a mole or other dark spot on the skin.
Most moles are harmless and don't require special care, but some people have unusual-looking moles, called dysplastic nevi, which are more likely to turn cancerous than ordinary moles are. Atypical moles occur most often on the back in both men and women, and also on the abdomen, chest and legs in women.
If a new mole appears past age 20, see your doctor. These signs and symptoms may indicate a medical concern:
Painful
Itching or burning
Oozing or bleeding
Inflamed
Scaly or crusty
Suddenly different in size, shape, color or elevation
If you're concerned about any mole, see your doctor or ask for a referral to a dermatologist.

If it bothers you, go see a Dermatologist and see what he sais. He will tell you whether you should or shouldn't depending where it is and how big it is. Sometimes it's better to leave them where they are. Otherwise it is very simple to have them removed. They don't hurt at all. The only problem, you have to keep the area clean once it is removed because infection can set in very easily. I had two removed and I am very happy. No pain, no bleeding. Very small scar but it does not show.

Moles are normal occurances. As long as they don't change color or start bleeding you shouldn't have any problems with them. You could always have it removed. The doctors can freeze it off, burn it off, or surgically remove it....with this being the last resort. I've had many moles froze off of me, no scarring whatsoever. Best of luck to you.

Everyone has moles and you shouldn't get it removed unless you think its cancerous or i guess if it really bothers you. Lots of supermodels have big moles on there faces and it doens't seem to hurt them. Just be confident in yourself.

I think moles are kinda cute, but not if it's huge and hairy. It's like a characteristic that makes you stand out from the rest.

My sister had one removed when she was 16, never looked back. It was between her nose & lip. I can't even remember her having it. It's a pretty simple procedure, too. Bottom line, does it bother YOU? Would you look & feel better with or without it?

Ask Robert DeNiro. I'm sure his career suffered terribly for it. Same for Val Kilmer. And don't forget women like Madonna who paint them on from time to time. Don't worry about it.
