by Jan 31st you have not received your W2, call the employer and ask them if they have been sent. If by Feb 15th you have not received it, call the Internal Revenue Service at 1-800-829-1040 and file a W2 complaint. They wil take a report and send you a form that you can use as a subsitute, you will need your last paycheck stub when you call, along with the name, address and phone# of the employer and what dates you worked for them

They are required by law to send your W2 -- and you need it to file your return. If you haven't received it by 2/15, call the IRS and file a missing W2 complaint. The IRS will investigate the situation. In nearly all cases it only takes one call from the IRS to motivate a lazy employer.

It's illegal not to send the w-2. They are required by law to do this, because people like you get held up! he company will get in a lot of trouble for not doing this. You need to get some help making sure you estimate your own taxes correctly, and indicate on your filing that your Co. did not issue you a w-2.

You can use your year end paystub to report your earning and withholdings. As far as checks that were not written through their regular payroll, that may be 1099 Subcontractor income and not wages. Your very first step needs to notify the IRS that they haven't issued you a W-2. They are breaking the law!

i don't think its illegal for them not to send you it, actually.
bears repeating.
they must give you an opportunity to access your w-2, although 99.9% of companies do that by sending it to you.
declare their checks as misc income, i read it in a book, and just ask for their federal number if they have one, and make your own w-2, you don't actually need the specific form.
but yeah, what recourse do you expect besides calling them and begging. sorry, that's the solution.

Try looking on their website for W-2 printing. If not I think you go on the IRS website and look up to see if they offer their W-2 online.

I think if you have all of your paystubs it should not be too big of a problem. Not too sure, though.
