If the dog is getting sick after being zapped, it probably not because of the fence, it's probably from being nervous about being shocked.

Be careful about electric fences because it they get out... which some will just go through the shock to run after something they WON"T come back in because they know they will have to get shocked again... If you have one that is trying to run through a lot this could happen..

Not sick, maybe hurt physically.
Try it yourself. Put the collar on your neck and turn the fence on and walk thru it. Whatever you feel, is exactly what your dog will feel.
I personally don't believe in the electrial fence. I'm sure it works, but, I think it's cruel.

Ever gotten a nasty shock from a metal screw? Have you gotten sick? It's just electricity. If it made a dog sick, I think we would all be dead.

If it shocks the dog, it might. There isn't any "radiated energy" that would make a dog sick.

It could injure him if he touched it, but just being around one wont make him sick
