Could this be jealousy or just wanting to know where the ex messed up at so they can avoid being like the person.

What if they constantly question you about your first love?

Kick them to the curb.

The reasons they want to know are the ones you just mentioned, plus they think you might compare them to the ex and want to know how, and they think that if you're going to cheat on them it'll be with the ex, so they want to know where to go when they stalk you.

Additional: My first sentence answers your additional details, that's why I put it there, because I knew why you were asking in the first place.

It does sound like an affair. He grow to be lengthy gone all summer and making arrangements in the previous with an previous female friend. the e-mail grow to be too personal to me. perhaps some thing like, would particular prefer to make amends for issues, perhaps have dinner one evening. no longer this lovey dovey stuff. i does no longer say some thing at the moment. basically keep your eyes and ears open and listen on your intestine emotions. Your instincts are oftentimes actual and if he has been lengthy gone all summer and is now distant from you, this can be a particular hint of difficulty. Sorry, yet I agree, make copies and keep them secure. If he's dishonest, more beneficial advantageous in the previous than later in a wedding ceremony.

It's not jealousy, exactly. All women like to know what the "competition" is like. If your new girlfriend is interested in you, she's naturally interested in what attracts you, and in what attracted you to a former gf. And yes, she'd like to know how the ex messed up so she can avoid doing that. There are very few women who disguise well their curiosity about former love interests. So humor her, and reassure her about your interest in her.

I think some women want to see what their partner's attraction was prior to her. Part of it is curiosity and part of it is wanting confirmation of all the negative things your guy conveyed about her. Partly, a man is to blame if they speak about their ex's in that manner. Many guys do . They should not focus on how their guy's ex messed up and concentrate on having a healthy relationship. Live in the present. If they seem jealous -then they are insecure about their present relationship. That is not good and therapy might be in order.

Guys are guilty of wanted to know their lady's ex's too but I do not think as badly as women do, lol...

I would say they are often curious to find out why you broke up, what you saw in your last girlfriend also as a way of safeguarding that you meet another girl of your ex's type. If they ask, tell them that here and now is what matters - although it is also a good idea not to always be overly defensive with regard to your ex-girlfriend.

Both. It can also mean that they want to see what their competition is... just in case the ex were to ever come back

They want to know what attracted you to that person first. What you need to do is answer that question in as few as words as possible and then give a long lengthy speech about why you became unattracted. Repeat as necessary.

OMG! Let me tell you! My ex husband had this girlfriend who used to quiz him about me all of the time. I mean when I eventually talked to her (my ex husband and I have children together and the girlfriend is now his wife)...she knew all kinds of stuff about me. I was like WTF! I mean private stuff! When I confronted him about it, he said that she pressured him into telling her about me. It turned out that she was jealous of me and wanted to know why my name was always brought up by him.
