We call it grandmas rice. You will need:
5 cups water
2 cups uncle ben converted rice
1 stalk celery finely chopped
1 large or equal baby carrots finely chopped
1 onion finely chopped
1 tomato finely chopped
olive oil
2 chicken bouillon cubes

Saute the veggies and rice in the olive oil until the rice is golden brown. Meanwhile bring the water to boil in a seperate pan. Now at about 3/4 cup of water at a time add it to the saute mixture, mixing after each batch of water is added. AFter adding about 2-3 batches of water let the water absorb into the rice and add small amounts at a time until the rice is done. Add salt and pepper to your taste.

For additional flavor add soy sauce or you can add finely chopped mushrooms to the mix as well to make a pilaf. This makes the rice a little creamy like risotto.

Good Luck...

I like "breakfast rice" like my great-aunt made:

Cook rice with some salt (Jasmine is good, though it can be tricky to cook.)

Stir in butter, sugar, and half and half or evaporated milk until it's thick and creamy, much like pudding.

I told you it was good!

Or, make rice pudding by cooking rice, then you beat an egg or two and add some hot rice to it to temper it. Mix that in the rice along with sugar, a tablespoon or two of butter, a little vanilla if you like, and a cup, maybe a little more of milk (per cup or so of rice.) Cook over low heat until the egg thickens everything up and stir it, stir it, stir it.

Some rice pudding recipes have you cook the rice in milk...but I never bother with those. I just adapted the breakfast rice to a pudding recipe.

This is a favorite recipe of mine using rice and chicken.

Chicken Breasts (no bones or skin)

Russian Dressing
Orange marmalade
Dry onion soup packet

Mix dressing, marmalade and soup mix and pour over chicken breasts. Cook for 40 min. Make plain white rice so you can pour chicken and mixture over the top of the rice when it's cooked.

Try it you'll like it.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://bitly.im/aMENd

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

boil several pieces of chicken, such as thighs and breast, till tender. remember to season chicken as you cook it. after chicken is done, take all meat from the bone. while you are de-boning the cooked chicken, prepare rice according to directions on package. make about 2 cups. after rice is done, add chicken meat and 2 cans of cream of chicken OR 1 can cream of chicken and 1 can of cream of mushroom soups. salt and pepper to taste, and bring to a simmer. my grandma used to make this and its like a comfort food for me. and it is very delicious. if it get too thick add a little water but not too much. you want a thicker constistency though. you could even add stuff like, finely chopped cooked carrots and celery, or even a can of corn. enjoy

buy some long grain basmati white rice (Jasmine brand is good). Rinse the grains in a strainer, and then fry them in garlic butter until golden. Add the designated amount of water and cook according to the directions. YUM!

When you boil the rice, add a little lemon or lime juice to the water. It gives it a citrus flavor that's good with Asian foods and fish.

Enjoy!
