Why do sodas stain?

I want to know why do sodas stain what is in them which makes it stain?

Please also provide a site.

The staining is caused by the coloring. You may see something called "caramel color" on some soda ingredients.

Also, the extremely low pH of soda (cola is very acidic) then sets the stain.

If you rinse with very cold water soon after the stain occurs, many times the stains will come out.

Contact the companies I am sure they will provide you with an aswer.

Personally I think it is a combination of food colouring reacting with they other chemicals that are used to produce this stuff.
