well since you guys have been friends for a while and his girl friend is treating him like crap that means soon they will break up if he cant stand her any more then be good with him and be the first one to help him feel better and then soner or later he will fall for you...
and you need to give him little hints that you like him
you need patients

Why dont you ask him if he likes you the same way you like him? I would do that. Then if he likes you he can decide if he wants to be with you, or his bad treating girl friend. I hope you follow your heart. That is all i can tell you. Good luck. I hope he makes the right decision.

ok i know how u feel i just got over one of these now if hes one of ur best friends and u luv havin him as a friend u dont do anything but if u think that even if u do go out and it dosent work out u will still be friends go for it just flirt with him a lil and just see how he reacts then go from there

if you really think that he is the one for him i would talk to him and tell him what you think about him. it doesnt have to be like i think that you guys should break up and leave it at that. just tell him that you like him and if he doesnt like the girl he is dating then he should dump her and look for somone else. then hope that he chooses you. just make sure that you make it clear you like him. dont make it seem like you want them to break up with eachother and look greedy just tell him somthing like this....;' look i really like you and i care about you. if you don't like(girl friends name) any more because she isn't quite right for you then tell her that it is done and over with. i just really care about you and want you to be happy.": then if you relation ship is good like give him a hug or somthing. its not too greedy looking and it just might work out for you. good luck

Convince him to dump her if she's really so bad, and make sure he sees how great you are in comparison to her.

if you really like him, let him take his course with his girlfriend, if they do end up breaking up, you will still need to wait until he heals...
this is called patience... you'll need a lot of it.
