Go for it! Or better yet, if you have any single girl friends, go all together--this is what I did at my prom: I went with my three best friends, we spent the whole day together getting ready, had a blast at prom, hit the afterparty together, and went back to my house for movies/music/sleep/breakfast. It was a blast, and way more fun since none of us had to worry about impressing a guy (and we got to flirt and dance with whoever we wanted, including the hot base player from the band)

YES ! I went to my Senior Prom solo and had an awesone time!
I attended Proms my sophomore and Junior year with dates, but had the most fun at my Senior prom. No stress, just hanging out with my friends.

It is absolutely okay. It's a matter of what makes you feel comfortable. If you have other friends going and will be able to socialize comfortably once you arrive then by all means, go.
Giving up your fun and shutting yourself off from your friends is not a healthy thing to do, even after a breakup

Girl you go on by your hot self, there is no crime in that. Don't miss your prom because your man is a fool. Especially if you have gf's to hang with.
