I just turned 16 and I was a cutter since I was thirteen. The odds are in your favor to stop cutting because you are asking for help. There are many things to do that could help you stop such as using ice on the place where you cut or snapping a rubber band. (Not hard enough to break the skin.) But what helped me most was when someone told me that every second I don't cut, I'm that much closer to stopping forever. Just take it hour by hour and if you have to, take it minute by minute. Just concentrate on making through the hour and then once you've done that be proud. And do it again.
Keep yourself busy because the less you think about it the quicker the time will go. About relieving your anger find something to express your self and no it doesnt have to be talking to a therapist. Try writing or singing or taking pictures. Do something to get it out. I cut because I wanted to feel and I wanted the emotional pain to go away so I took it out on myself physically. If you have to, find a place where you can just scream. It always helped me. My pain never went away completely and i know you know I can't take yours away (even though i would if I could) but I learned to deal with it. If you need to email me I'll be here. sweetangel8000@yahoo.com
Good luck,
Vanessa R.
P.S. I know you can do it. If you set your mind to it. and it sounds like you already have.

I've was once in that position. i used to cut myself.
but a little after my parents found out i made a promise to myself that i'd stop.
Even though you've probably heard this a million times, you need to talk to someone. Cutting is serious and you need to find a way to stop your addiction. And when you do stop you'll raelize how pointless it all was.
Just talk to someone about anything and whatevers bothering you.
Theres so much that can be said but its all up to you.

Hey, Hon'. You need to go talk to someone to get all that pent up anger out of you. I remember when I had water in my knee one year, I was also going through a lot of sadness. Well, I had to go to the doctor to get it drained, so they were going to give me something to numb the pain and I refused, because I wanted to feel the pain. Well, it hurt like hell when they stuck the needle in there to drain the fluid from my knee. I almost threw myself off the table. If I had just talked to someone at that time instead of refusing the pain killer, I would've saved myself from that headache.
Go talk to someone, Sweetheart. You're looking for guidance, this is where it lies....with talking to someone. You're doing the right thing by speaking up, the only thing now is to talk it over.
Good luck to you...

Hi Sweety, You will be able to stop cutting as soon as you talk to a licensed therapist. It is common so dont feel like there is anything "wrong" with you. So many people suffer from cutting. You just need some guidance honey. Find a professional as soon as you can. Please talk to someone soon. God Bless you!!

No one can tell you NOT to cut. You have to make that decision. Get rid of your razors, like the girl above said, go to a counselor. You friend shouldn't cut just because you cut. That's just a way to get attention, a pretty suckish way to get a attention.

See your school counselor. There's nothing anyone can do here.
