Take your meds! Atheists are thinkers, yes, but we are feelers too just like any human being.

There are those 2 types, thinkers and feelers, and believers can be both. Paul was a thinker. I myself am a thinker and my wife is a feeler. It does cause some tension sometimes but that doesnt mean she never thinks and I never feel; that simply characterizes the way we primarily react to things. It does not mean she has never thought out her faith.
The only reason people cannot be believers is because they lack faith and/or they love the world more than God.

Because you haven't been called to be a believer; Matthew 20:16
So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
I actually have a lot of respect for atheist, it's harder to be an atheist than a Christian. And many Christains that have been called to not stay true to their calling, many think it is OK to believe what you like about the Bible and forget the rest.
I have no respect for a man that says I am a believer then says it's OK to believe what you like about the Bible. This is exactly what the serpent told Eve in the garden;Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Here is the first preacher, teacher, wise man of the Bible teaching lies against God's word and today they are doing the exact same thing or this reason; 1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Gen3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food(physical desire; to satisfy hunger), and that it was pleasant to the eyes(lust of the flesh), and a tree to be desired to make one wise(worldly wisdom and pride), she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Believing is believeing you are a sinner, saved by grace, by Jesus Christ death on cross, and repenting and accepting what he did as true, it is that simple, and let the Bible and God guide you not some church, this is where most fall away.

Well, I think that the difference is not feeling it, God is not only something you can feel if you want. If that was true then it would be unjust that some, like you cannot feel, right? Humans are born the same, we are simple and so complicated at the same time, then why some people believe and other do not?
Great thinkers like Plato talked about God then Sartre..
Nietzsche another great mind was non believer..
If you study all those figures you'll find out that there are strong believers or 'strong' non-believers, and I think it's because there is a THIN LINE between both.

When I was younger I felt the same way that you do and then because of the events in my life and the sights that I have witnessed I began to change. I am now a believer not in any organized religious concept but in a higher being that works in my life. I think the basic foundations of world religions were correct but they became distorted when men began to interfere and place their own beliefs and values into the process. These ruined the true nature of what God is all about.
Men seem to believe with the exception of some notables such as Gandhi, that they are the exception to what needs to be practiced consistently. That would be a caring, nonjudgmental respect for all humankind, animals and nature.

Yet with all your thinking and thoughtfulness, you don't have a clear concept of faith. It is the essence of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. It is not meant in this world for us to be all knowing. If we were, then we would all be just like God. We are only made in his image. Why is it so hard to believe in something you cannot see? Air can't be seen, but yet we know we are breathing it. You are not correct in saying you could not be a believer. It is a choice that is left to each and every on of us to make, whether or not to believe in God. You do believe in air, I assume. You owe it to yourself to truly give the possibility some "thought." God's love cannot be compared to any other this world has to offer and that is why this "empty dumpty" , as you dubbed us, knows she is not at all empty, but full of all the wonderful things God freely gives me. I thank you for being respectful. Maybe that respect will help open the door for you to accept God in your heart. Even believers can do a lot of thinking, and I will be thinking and praying about you. His abounding love to you, my friend.

Why not be dominated by either. Be a feeler and a thinker to teh extent you were created to be!!! That is all God wants. I am more of a thinker personally then I am a feeler. But I am still a believer.

What are you, a Vulcan? Don't be ridiculous, atheists have feelings too, and beliefs. The difference being, that they base their beliefs off of what's observable. That's good science, on the surface, but relies on all forces being observable. There are many things in the universe that we simply don't know to look for yet, and so variables that can't be accounted for. Believe it or not, by declaring a stance on the issue, you firmly declare yourself as a believer. A true thinker would reserve judgement until all the information was in.

although its an odd question, i think you reallyy hit the spot with those that have blind faith and those that think about blind faith and choose not to believe...
i am agnostic, so i am not an athiest nor am i a believer...
as a thinker though i find it proposterous to actually believe...especially when we are talking about the age old image of an old gray bearded man who sits on a thrown and makes things happen...
if anything i think a more metaphysical approach taking into account the explained and the unexplained and base it on the energy of the universe, or a more buddist "karmatic" approach is much more feesible and realistic thing to believe in...
otherwise, hey just be a good agnostic person, selfless and caring, and if there is a god and an afterlife and all that that stuff. well you'll go off to greener pastures

God.. Religions etc. are more of 'belief', so obviously they are for the believers..., but obviously in good sense. Such 'belief' is more like a 'structure' that holds ones faith in him. With out faith none can perform his duty as a human being.
The term God is used to designate a Supreme Being; however, there are other definitions of God. For example: *Many religious and philosophic systems consider a God to be the creator of the universe. *Some traditions hold that the creator of the universe is also the sustainer of the universe (as in theism), while others argue that their God is no longer involved in the world after creation (as in deism).*The common definition of a God assumes omnipotence, omniscience and benevolence.
omnipotence: having unlimited power
omniscience: having infinite knowledge
benevolence: disposition to do good, an act intending or showing kindness and good will

Being a believer is a lifestyle. You can make up in your mind that you don't want to believe and be miserable a reap the consequences of God's wrath on your life or you can walk in God wonderful lite and have the abundance of life. Walk in all of
God's blessings for your life. The bible tells us that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is lord. God created us for his purpose. He created us to praise him and worship him he does not need you to do that because he word also tell us that if we don't praise Him he will make the rock cry out for Him. I know I am worth more that a rock. I know my true value and know that I am a child of the most high. And you are to. Before your mother and father got together and made you God already planned you and put wonderful things inside of you for the up building of his kingdom. I am so excited and happy to know that God loves us so much that he put different things in each of us so we can help each other go through this battle here on earth. The best part about it is we are not even here a fraction of the time that we will in heaven.
