I have noticed that my cat is losing weight,he is now 3 years and half and we brought him since he was 1 year.

He was a little big in size and weight with shining long hair over his body.

Nowadays,he is losing weight and he is losing hair(I found every day some big hair masses in the home).
He sometimes eat,and sometimes refuse to eat, when he doesn't eat at all,he doesn't sleep at all.
he goes and smell the food, eat a very little amount and then keep staring on me.I'm heartbroken as I don't know what's wrong with him.

I noticed also bad breath(any relation with the above mentioned condition?)

He accepts touching and grooming and loves to play .

does he have any disease??does he need any change in the food?

Are you feeding him dry food? Then maybe he is refusing the food becuase he has dental issues - bad teeth or bad gums causing bad breath and pain when eating. Look inside is mouth - is there a build-up of tartar or plaque (whitish material coating the sides of the teeth). Are his gums reddish and swollen looking?
Dental issues are not immediately life-threatening but can cause numerous complications if allowed to go on. Take kitty to the vet and have his mouth checked and also talk about the weight loss and the cat's lack of appetite. If his teeth is the cause then remedy is fairly simple: good professional cleaning, maybe a number of extractions, a course of antibiotic and regular teeth brushing at home.

Meanwhile, see if you cat will eat wet canned cat food.

He must love you a lot and is asking you to help him get back to his old ways and personality. Sounds like he needs to see a vet. Cats have the same illnesses as people. He may have a tooth hurting him. The vet would be the one to recommend a change in his diet. A health problem is indicated if there is a change in eating, littter habits or appearance and condition of his fur. Good luck. I know you want the best for him. He is lucky to have you.

What you are describing sounds like it could be one of any number of medical conditions. He could have dental problems, parasites, or an illness. The weight loss, bad breath, poor appetite, and hair loss are all signs of possible illness or parasitic infection. You should get him to the vet - only a vet can examine and treat him properly so he can get better. 3 years old is very young for a cat - with good veterinary care he could live to be 15-20 years old.

I think it's wrong that we all make cruel jokes about cats. It's just not right. And the boy/girl on twitter's "Obsessed" with Miley Cyrus. But seriously, how would we feel if some where rite now, a pack of lions were joking about chasing you down and turning you into last night's human Lasagna? And doing something so cruel just to here from miley on twitter /-:! Cats are really loving creatures. And he/she's threatening to kill his/her cat for a tweet.

I dont want to scare you but my cat stopped eating. He would look at me like he was hungry but wouldn't eat. He lost alot of weight. When i took him to the vet they determined that he had cat HIV and Leukemia. He was a stray when we got him and he got those horrible diseases from being outside fighting with other felines. Your kitty needs to see a vet.

Most likely your cat has worms. My cat had worms last summer and we took him to a vet and he got vaccinated and after that was fine, however if you dont get him checked out by a vet soon enough he could die. Take him to a vet immeadiatly and get them to help you.

I would strongly advise taking him to the vets to get his teeth and gums checked out - cats can suffer from the same sorts of mouth problems we can, he may have a little gum infection or gingivitis - easily cured. If you feed your cat just meat alone it may cause his breath to smell - cats also need to clean their teeth aswell which is why i always feed my cat dried food aswell as meat, this way when they crunch their way through a few biscuits it help to clean their teeth and keep them strong. I think you can buy cat biscuits especially designed to help clean their teeth. I hope this helps.

It might be a good idea to contact a veterinarian about your cat's health issues. It could be a parasite, it could be some thing wrong inside. That would be the best thing to do at this point.

Well, the only way to find out is to take him to the vet. He might have a tapeworm, but he'd typically be eating a lot and still losing weight. The tapeworm steals the nutrition from the cat. Please take your cat to the vet.

Well, cats often have a tendency toward certain food...for example, my cat loves seafood...and hates beef! He wouldn't eat any beef at all, and would hiss and scratch at me when I tried to make him eat it..so my best guess is to say that maybe you need to change his food; try to find something that he'll eat with relish. :)
