When did the bible become a reliable source of scientific information??.. its just a bunch of stories made up by people thousands of years ago.. The bible doesn't mention life on other planets because religion was invented by humans, looking for an explanation to their exsistance. At the time it was written it was inconceivable that there was life anywhere else, hence its not mentioned.

Any person who relies on religion to explain anything, should think twice and look at the scientific facts.

There's probably life on other planets, granted probably not on planets in our solar system. Also we have to remember that life includes microorganisms and bacteria - not necessarily intelligent life.
Anyway - the Bible wouldn't talk about it because how would it know? Sure, there were prophets and stuff in the Bible but they were too busy making predictions about the life of Jesus and everything. I don't think extraplanetary lifeforms was much of an issue in 1 A.D.
I guess on a deeper sense, you could be asking why God only paid attention to this planet and not the others that contain life. Any Christian would probably tell you that it's because we're special and unique and therefore God allocates most of his time towards our development and well-being. I would probably say the answer is more like, we're a bit arrogant and we tend to think of ourselves as the most intelligent or interesting lifeform in the universe (true, until scientifically proven otherwise).

Intellegent Life or simply organic/biological life?

I actually believe there is microbacteria currently living in our universe. I believe when NASA sends a probe to Jupiter's moon Eurposa, will find all kinds of living microrganims. I can't wait!

I am a Christian.

Why does the Bible not mention it?
No purpose to mention it. Or they weren't aware of the possibility.

The Bible fails to mention other planets because apparently people back then would not understand the concept. Oh, okay.

If life is ever discovered on other planets, you can be sure a suitable passage "prophesying" the existence of life elsewhere will be found, as well as a quatrain written by Nostradamus.

Those who wrote the Bible thought the sun orbited the Earth. They assumed that what they saw was all there was.

With what we know now, it would be absurd to think that ours is the only life in the entire universe.

Because the bible is a work of fiction, written by men at a time when people did not know there were other planets.

Isn't this apparent?
