okay this is a toughie...(i'm extremely selfish...all about what i like)
but my husband has stuck it out (married almost 6 years dated for 3 been together for a total of almost 9 years)...if people love one another they will work it out (or fight it out HA) but i do try to think about his feelings too...so i'd say it takes a partner who loves you & a little comprimise from the selfish partner.

Selfishness and being self-centered are personality flaws and can be difficult if not impossible to treat. Because often, the jerk doesn't know they're a jerk. Even after you tell them. It's bad news.
