I have been dating my current girlfriend for over two years now. I love her to death and she is the most important thing in my life. I decided I wanted to propose to her this Valentines Day but I am having second thoughts. I already bought the ring, and I think she'll like it because when we were at the jewelry store one day she said that she thought that the ring was beautiful. I am feeling a bit nervous. What should I say? Please help.

Well, it depends. How old are you guys? If you are around 18 or so maybe a little older, then yea! Go for it. If you are having second thoughts though maybe you should wait until you are positive about it. I hope everything works out for you! And remember, if you love her and you think she loves you, GO FOR IT!

Ask yourself what is causing the nervousness. If you don't think you are ready to propose then simply hang onto the ring until you have worked those issues out. Don't let Valentine's Day or any other holiday pressure you into marriage if you are not ready. She will be ecstatic over the proposal whether its a holiday or not! Can you imagine someone proposing then backing out on you because they weren't really ready?

being nervous is normal for any life changing event like getting married. The key thing here is to find the root of your nervousness. you should ask yourself what is the root if your nervousness. Are you nervous because you feel you are making a wrong move? Too soon? is it because Its overwelming you? Or is it the type of nervousness you get when you reached the peak of the rollercoaster? if you are having any doubts than you maybe wait it out more. Remember there is no rush. And if you are going to make a move like that do it with 100% attitude that its right. Good Luck.

It is normal to be nervous because it is a huge step to take in a new beginning in life........However if you have to ask for help from people to help you make the decision for you then I don't think your ready or mature enough if you can't make up your own mind...Only you can answer your own question....Don't listen too much to other people because you can and probably will get all kinds of comments that could scare you away. just follow your heart and try to figure out what your so afraid of and then work it out ...I hope you make the right decision..

Okay this is what you need to decide first. are those feelings of second thoughts just because you are nervous or because you arent ready. u know yourself better than anyone. so answer that question to yourself and you will do the right thing. it sounds like you really love her so dont let this chance go for some nervous feelings, or you will really regret it.

My buddy wrote a good article about things to consider before asking your girlfriend to marry you - http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/80434/things_to_consider_when_proposing_marriage.html.

I hear ya, it can be tough. Read this article, talk to any buddies who have made the decision and go with your gut feeling.

I agree with xxbrandy8...
But if you are going to purpose make the evening romantic...
try saying something like....
A dozen bright red roses,
a cup of romantic quotes,
a whole heart for passion,
a pinch of lust,
a pinch of spice,
a brick of gold for pureness,
a bucket of diamonds for a rich soul,
and me for eternal happiness,
and that is the recipe for LOVE.
so... Will you marry me?????

see something easy like that.

Propose only when you're absolutely sure.
