I have no problem with mutts - some of the best dogs I know are mutts.

I have a problem with the idiots who intentionally create MORE mutts, when millions of dogs (mutts AND purebreds alike) are killed every year because there aren't enough homes for them.

I completely agree. The idea that one paticular dog is better than another is ridiculous. Its the same in the human world. Quite frankly, I don't think that Queen Elizabeth is any better a person that I am just because she's a queen. Someones mommy and daddy does not a great person make. Same with dogs.

A good dog is a good dog...NO MATTER WHAT. PURE OR NOT!

I had a mutt. She was the best dog a person could ask for. She's been gone for 8 years now and I still miss her every day.

My girls a mutt. I have no problem telling people that. She is constantly getting complimented on her looks and personality. And when people ask what breed she is and I say that their guess is as good as mine they sometimes turn up their noses. But, I'll tell you I am so fortunate because all my friends with purebred dogs are always at the vet for some reason or another.

i've only had mutts and in general they are healthier then the purebreds and most likely the crosses too. i think every ones beef with going out and buying such a animal is that they should not be bred. my one friend always had a full blooded something and she would look down at my mutts but all of my mutts out lived her beloved breeds. and i think made better pet all in all... i just don't think ppl should go out a buy from a breeder when full blooded and mutts die in shelter all over the world. and y would anyone who truly cared for animals want to breed excessively?

I love my Heinz 57's they are better then the ketchup...lol

All of my dogs, my whole life, have been "mutts" and I LOVE them!

My sister's $1000 AKC dog lived a short 5 years. My mutt however, is going up on 15 and is still in the best of health!

It really has nothing to do with Mutts....It has more to do with Backyard Breeders and people that don't know anything about breeding wanting to breed their dogs "Because they're cute and sweet".

I would much rather see someone go to a shelter and adopt, than breed more puppies that end up in shelters - Mutt or Purebred!

ignorance. thats what some peoples problem is. I love my pit bull lab mix. mutts make better pets. Less health problems and better temperments. i would never pay for a pet when there are so many in this world who dont have a perfect blood line but need TLC too. Maybe oneday ppl will realize that you dont have to have a AKC or a CKC dog to have truely wonderful pet.

I agree...mutt's often make the best pets. Who cares what other's think?! I think to some people, that owning a purebred is a more of a status symbol. Kind of like owning a Caddilac.

I agree - they're great dogs. When I enrolled my mutt (a mix from the local shelter) in agility class, I learned that in US agility they refer to mixed breeds as "All-American". I love that idea, and now that's what I call her when people ask what breed she is.
