Why do guys do this?... I was seeing a guy for just under a month, not even long enough for a disagreement. I thought everything was going fine. I liked him, I thought for sure he liked me... Then about a week ago he COMPLETELY dropped off the face of the freaking planet!!! Not returning calls or text messages.....
Why do guys do that?!??!?! This is not the first time it has happened either! (with other people)

This is sure to be an unpopular response due to many people tell a lie rather than the truth out of fear of what others will think.
I am not afraid of what others think, so here goes.
I think what happens, is the initial attraction a guy feels for a girl is normally sexually & physically. Some guys feel weird having to admit they can have feelings for a women (whom they reguard as being the weaker sex, think it's taught in many things, not just in religion).
Because guys have to have a release, I think after they relieve themselves, probably in the bathroom while showering, they feel less of a compulsive drive after that to be with a woman (they feel like it's a victory over their sex drive, brain beats the little guy).
Sometimes they may not date for weeks after that, or maybe months. It is a very difficult thing to ignore sexual inpulses. It is also known that after you relieve yourself, there is less of it to ignore because the desire leaves for a while.
Hope this helps! This is why you should find a guy whom likes you, even after many months of dating.

sumtymes guys r a**holes & sumtymes there r extenuating circumstances as to y he has not returned ur calls/messages. give it another 3 days, if no word by then, cut his a** off. guys do that sumtymes b/c they ain't man enuff to have a sit-down & let u know what the hell is goin' on!

Because he is a coward and he obvouisly can't tell you face to face that he no longer wants to see you. This guy is an idiot. Move on girl!

did you meet any of his friends?
did you have sex?
did you meet his family?
if you said yes to any of these questions then I can understand him ignoring you, sorry thats how this works, cause you get your friends, parents/siblings to rate them, and then you get your result of him not calling, or answering any messages... plus if you gave it up then I imagine he got what he was looking for.
best way to solve this mystery is to go to his house if you know where that is, and knock and get answers
