There are many types of virus going around and I am sure that your body has some immunity to some of them. There are always new types of virus that you are exposed to and each time your body builds some immunity to that one. That is the way it goes on and on. Antibotics do not work with a virus, they must run their course. Antibotics do work with bacterial infections. When you get a cold and bacteria developes then the antibotics work on them. Most people say they have the flu but most of the time it is not the flu. They just say the wrong name.

Our body is immune to a cold/flu virus.
Trouble is, there are literally thousand of strains of each disease. You could be immune to 700 different types of cold virus, but if you happen to get 1 that you aren't, BOOM you're sick.

Simple, the cold & flu viruses mutate (become different) every season. The CDC makes a good guess every year,in order to make a vaccine that will most likely be effective to everyone who takes it to prevent the flu or serious complications. That why its been so difficult to come up with a real "cure" for the "common cold ".Take care. this is because cold viruses mutate so fast that when they return to your body it dosn't recognize it.
