They think you are looking for a new Dad for your child!! Sometimes people can come across so dumb when they make assumptions about a situation. Maybe you can find a group for single moms, because then you'll be able to relate to them & get much needed support!!! Best wishes!!

At least you know where stand with a guy that is not really into children.

I have kids and when I meet women; I find out where they stand. For instance, some like kids and don't mind having them around, others don't want kids around and in that instance she and my kids paths will not cross. I would rather know up front rather then be deceived later.

I dated a women once that was much older then me and her kids were grown so the last thing she wanted to do was raise kids again. She conveyed this to me and anytime we went out, it was on my schedule, because my kids came first.

Because your son is the personification of commitment and responsibility, and that scares a lot of guys straight out of their heads.

They see your son and assume (whether correctly or not) that you are looking for a husband and father figure for him. Depending on how old you are and how old the guys you're dating are, this can be straight up terrifying.

You can't help that. All you can do is find the man who will love your son as much as he loves you. That might take a while and a bit of trial and error.

Some guys are just stupid when it comes to this sort of thing. But there are some great guys who can deal with it. I'm a single mom of three, and my boyfriend is great with my kids. He knows if he wants to be with me, they are part of the deal.

It says bad things about your morals, for those men who believe in such things, except in certain situations. It's also a financial strain, they'll never be #1 in your heart, and you didn't take the appropriate measures to prevent an out-of-wedlock pregnancy, which puts them at risk of having to pay you child support down the line...

Sorry, but that's what goes through some people's heads.

Men have daddy issues. They feel like that the have to take on someone else's responsibility and it make them feel trapped. Please men barely like being trapped in a relationship with a girl with no kids let alone one with. Don't worry though, there are some really great guys out there!

They are afraid of the possible responsibility. Also, if they're not serious about you they don't want to get involved in a relationship with your kid.

Maybe they are afraid that the child will never accept them as step-dad. Or perhaps they don't want the responsibility of breaking up with two people if the relationship does not work out.

Because the son is not theirs and they are afraid your only interest is you want someone to support your son. Look for someone who likes kids more the the mama. and you will find a good husband who would be more than glad to support your son

Maybe they don't want an instant family and an ex to constantly deal with.

I know that I am really not that fond of dating guys with kids. I only want to date guys without kids. I don't want to deal with the issues that stepmoms deal with. It is just not what I want in my life.

I would just say to you to focus on your children, one day you will find soemone who loves your kids as much as you do. Any man who does not love your kids or wnat to deal with step children is not worthy of you.
