Why do you assume that we believe that you have to be a Christian to go to heaven?

Don't you realize it's a condition of the heart and not a label? Tell me, where in the Bible does it say, "And Jesus said, thou must be a Christian to enter the Kingdom of Heaven" or "Only Christians shall enherit the Kingdom of God"?

Christian is just a name, like no other...

It's about your heart.

cause most christians proclaim it is the label that saves you not the heart.

imo god will judge hearts not labels.

he wont condemn the good hearted while sending the "bad hearted/good labeled" to heaven for rewards.

thats like rewarding those kids who pick on other kids but pretend they are little angels.. like Angelica off of Rugrats, while sending tommy and his group to hell.

thats not very "just"

well unless somebody put words in his mouth it does say in the bible i don't remember the exact book chapter and text but it say i am the way the truth and the life none shall inherit the kingdom but through me anyway i should be able to if i want be say a buddhist or taoist and be able to make it into heaven too bad it's not like that and many christians won't accept what you are throwing out there which is why i have a hard time swallowing this particular pill anyway i don't think god cares one way or the other about religion

Jesus says, in your own Bible, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me, and no one comes to Me, except that the Father beckons." (forgive the paraphrase, don't have time to look it up ATM).

So let's see... if I'm called, God will give me a new heart that will hear and understand his calling (because my regular heart is incapable of understanding and hearing). Once I have this new heart, I will hear and understand and come to Jesus (but I can't come to Jesus unless God calls me first and gives me a new heart by which to understand). Only once I accept Jesus can I come to the Father, who is in Heaven.

So even according to Jesus, God has to make the first move.

Why then do Christians insist that I need to make the first move? I cannot, according to the Bible, come to Faith until God creates an understanding heart in me.

Because I've been told by numerous Christians all my life that I have to believe like they do, study and believe their bible in their way, and go to their churches in order to A. be a Christian and B. go to Heaven. That's not an assumption. It's fact.

i do not believe that i am out of the running for heaven. But The Bible says that god will speak to you and he shall call the to his heavenly realm. But god does not speak to non-christians

Are you kidding? Is this a subtle joke?

"For no man cometh unto the Father but by me." -John 14:6.

And dozens of similar quotes. Jesus is quite insistent on the fact that belief in his name is essential to salvation, and Paul is even more insistent. In other words, yes, "Christians" are justified in their bigotry by scripture. Of course, if you're not "Christian," the whole argument about scripture is moot. Nice catch-22.

Also, "cardboard jesus" is absolutely right: Christianity is a program, and you ought to either get with it, or admit that you're just making up your own heresy by picking and choosing what you like (and note that "what you like" doesn't necessarily mean "what you find pleasant": Christians find support for both their fantasies and their neuroses in scripture).

Christian = to follow Christ. In the bible, it states that Christ is the only way to the father, who of course is in heaven.

If you're a xian, you have to believe in Christ in order to be saved. That's how it works.

If you're not a xian, well, you're gonna go to hell. So sayeth the xians.. I'm an atheist so ... I don't care.

Because that is what most people of your religion, in fact, believe.

Yes, it's true. Some people feel that JC died and that means everyone gets into heaven. Others feel you have to merely be a good person to get in now that JC died. Others that you must accept JC as lord and savior. Still others you must accept JC AND repent your sins.

Hello differences in denominations.

If you don't believe this, you are not a Christian. You have just made up your own personal religion. Get with the program, or just realize it's all nonsense.

Well, you tell us enough that we're not going to Heaven if we don't believe in Christ...not "you" specifically, of course, but the general "Christian you".
