Going to church for my whole life has given me quite the amount of information on christianity. Ive agreed with most of the ideas, but there is still one part that bothers me. According to the bible, it is a sin to be gay or lesbian. God made Adam and Eve so man and woman could be together. some extreamest even claim that gays can not go to heaven which clearly does not make sence but whatever. Another basic belief is that god is creator of all things and he makes every being to be perfect. This, however, contridicts itself because if god created everyone, why would he create people that would be natural sinners (gays)? im sry if i offend anyone, that is not my intent, but i simply wonder why god would create people do be sinners?

thanks alot, alot of these answers were great but a few used free will as an excuse. Free will makes no sense to me and god controdicts himself with this. The biggest thing that puzzles me is most will agree that god has free given everyone free will and the power to choose. Yet those same people will claim god to be all knowing and know our future actions even down to the day we will die. If god created all and knows our future actions, then he has not given us free will to choose our future actions. That said, God knows who will be put in hell and who will accept jesus. does anyone have a good answer to this? thanks for the other answers tho

I agree with you COMPLETELY, but I will answer you from the other perspective.
The Bible does not say it is a sin to be gay, however most Christians interprete it to say that. It is more likely talking about pedophiles or something deviant/wrong like that.
These people often believe that it is a CHOICE to be gay, and that God would never make these people. They believe they created the person and gave them free will, and they chose to sin.
By the way, Christianity says that everyone is born a sinner, with something called "original sin". Only the Virgin Mary was born free of it.
I think that gays and lesbians are no different than any other human being. Everyone has their own preferences whether it be hair color or gender. God created everyone and loves everyone.
Believe what you do in your heart and don't conform to every aspect of a religion if you don't like it! <3

God did not create us as sinners. Because of Adam and Eve's disobedience to God, we all became natural born sinners. Any of us can choose to be homosexual, adulters, liars, thief's, fornicators, murders. We are all born that way.
This is why God came to the earth in the form of the human man, Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son. So that His death on the cross is the sacrifice for those of us who will accept Him as our Lord and Savior and bring us back into the relationship with God that we were meant to have.
We all deserve punishment and death but, because of Jesus' sacrificial death, we can be forgiven. Because of Jesus resurrection, we can live forever with God.
We can do nothing to deserve this gift. We can't be religious enough or good enough. No matter what we have done, if we accept Jesus and turn away from those sins, He will forgive and change our hearts, minds and actions.

To KNOW something is not the same as to CAUSE something.
God knows what WILL BE , but if you want to use human reason, which you evidently do, then you must see that one cannot see what isn't going to happen but can only see that which IS going to happen. If it's going to happen, then it can't be changed.
Nor does God create every human being. We are all descendents of Adam and Eve. So we can't blame God for how people turn out or what choices they make in their lives concerning lifestyles.
We ARE all sinners in the sense that we do not have the ability to obey God completely no matter how hard we try. We need a savior from the penalty for our sin.
But, we have a savior. He is for all, but not all receive the benefit that He won for them.

God created the conditions where free will creatures would be able to make a choice between obedience and disobedience to God. God does not cause anyone to sin (James 1:13). In the freedom of our own wills, we decide to rebel against God. God simply allowed the condition to exist where sin was possible.

It's not a sin to be gay or lesbian - ie to be attracted to people of your own sex. It's a sin to have sex with someone that you're not married to - so gay sex is out of the question (and premarital sex, adultery, orgies, etc). People can't help who they're attracted to but people can control their behavior. So no one is going to Hell simply for having homosexual desires - God doesn't send people to Hell for things those people had no control or choice about. Engaging in gay sex (which is something people have a choice about) is a serious sin that can put your soul in serious danger of Hell.
Be careful too about assuming that God made all things perfectly. If you follow that belief to it's logical conclusion, it would be wrong for us to take medicine and have surgery since it would be altering God's "perfect" creation. God is the creator of the universe, but the universe is in a fallen state. We don't live in a perfect world and we won't live in a perfect world until the New Heaven and New Earth. Part of the imperfection of the world is that some people are born with a desire for gay sex that they can't act on without sinning. Christians should have sympathy for people in that situation and pray for them.

I was not raised Catholic nor am I religious, but everything else Tally said I agree with.
"I was raised Catholic and understand what you're saying. The bible was written as stories to help people understand certain things. The bible is a reference tool to the faith. The church, the pastors, Pope (if you're Catholic) or other elder church leaders are the ones calling the shots, defining what's a sin and what's not. There is so much that contradicts itself. Read, educate yourself. God creates people to have free will. God loves everyone. It's the church that is telling you otherwise."
Let me say her words for a third time, because she is right.

God created man perfect in every way. It was man's natural inclination to live according to God's laws. Through sin, man's nature became corrupt. It is now man's natural inclination to rebel against God's laws. Did God create the homosexual desire? No, it is a result of mans corrupt nature. Does God love homosexuals? Yes, so much so that He offered them salvation through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ.
edit: If you were to recommend a book that you enjoyed reading to a friend, would it make any difference as to how much your friend enjoyed the experience of reading the book just because you already know how it ended?
God knowing how your future is to end does not negate the fact that you are living your life now and are making choices that will effect your future.

We were born innocent. God created everyone for a reason, and that reason is to try to get to heaven. So, if God wanted homosexuality to be...he would have put like Adam and James instead of Adam and Eve (which really wouldnt make since). Homosexuality is wrong and it is a sin, but sins dont send you to hell, people die and go to hell because they weren't close to God. (which means that they werent saved while no Earth.) People in general are sinners, but people that want to go to heaven try to change their ways.

I wholly believe that God didnt create "gays". If you recall adam and eve who were free of sin until satan temped eve to eat the apple therefor making the first sin. God doesnt create people who are gays, he creates us has sinner so that we come to him on our own free will. If that doesnt help think of how the bible says that all sins are equal not one sin is worse then another. Gays can go to heaven as long as they ask JC into there hearts. God doesnt just simply say no one that is gay can come to heaven.
may God bless you and everyone you love!

YOu have much misinformation. Gays and Lesbians go through hell in this life, then they go thorugh it again when they die. God doesn't need to punish them....life will. Jjust as it does drug addicts or adulterers or liars.
Where in the Bible does it say that God made everything perfect? He did not. He made us imperfect so we could have the joy of becomming perfect. We are a "little lower than the angels.
God created us to make choices. between sin and His way. It is not a choice if He offers only His way...."You can have any color you want as long as it is black." Nadda.
