Cockatiels, like any bird are very tactile and use their beak to feel things, It would not suprise me to have a cockatiel chew through a windowscreen as the cockaiels I have chew through branches, rope toys and nuts frequently.
It would be adviseable to deter the bird from chewing on the window screens not only due to the potential for the bird to fly the coup, but also if you have sprayed and chemicals on the windows and screens when cleaning, or any fly/bug sprays they may prove toxic to your bird.

Depends on the cockatiel, but unfortunately, most likely yes. They chew, bite most things. It's how they explore. And yes, once they can taste the call of the wild, they will answer (yes, they will do everything they can to get outside). Once outside, they most likely will call for help, especially if they have a fellow cockatiel still on the inside. If they don't have a buddy, they may or may not call out, depending on their personality and how frightened they are to be in unfamiliar territory.

Bottom line advice: Don't allow your cockatiel near a screened, open window.

Don't let them chew the screen. It is not good for them. They are capable of chewing through it to get loose. They don't understand the danger.

With boredom, yes it would be very possible since it is a hook bill and has a very strong bite. This is one reason why barred cages are used.Have a tweet year
