Nah. People warned that all sorts of nasty things would happen if a woman were elected as Speaker of the House and a Muslim-American were allowed to be photographed taking his oath of office with one hand on the Qur'an.

Those things happened, and the sun still managed to come up the next morning.

First I think it would be hard to say that the only sin the people of Sodom or Gomorrah had was homosexuality. I believe they where in all kinds of sins. Second if we look back at the previous conversation the Lord had with Abraham. Abraham asked the Lord if he found some righteous people in the city would he spare the city and God said yes he would. I believe the number started out at like fifty righteous people and Abraham got it down to like ten. God said he would spare the city if ten righteous men where found. so I believe we have nothing to fear in America as long as we still have some righteous people. Also we are living under a new age since Christ came we are in the age of grace and forgiveness not the age of the law.

since Sodom was destroyed because Abraham could not show God 10 righteous people (Genesis 18).... does that mean if 10 people stand for God no matter what the country decides, will it be spared?

I guess we cannot assume to know what God will do if that happens. but we need to be prepared no matter what comes our way at any given time

God didn't destroy Sodom just because of homosexuality. He destroyed it because of all kinds of sinfulness.

Weather the U.S. legalizes gay marriage or not, yes, this earth will someday be destroyed because of sinfulness.

I don't see the problem w/ being gay. (I am not) With all of the horrible things in this world like rape & child molestation, child abuse...why is being gay focused on. I think people in general should have morals & not sleep around gay or straight. Live a quality life, be spiritual in your own right, & try to improve on a regular basis. So no I don't think the U.S. will be destroyed...but I don't understand God & this is just my theory which means nothing.

I think that as long a gang rape is still outlawed, we'll be okay.

If you read the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, it never says anything about homosexuality, but rather is a story of rape and attacking people.

You cannot be serious. Has anyone in the last 2000 years seen any real existence of god? No. Will anyone in the next 2000 years see any real existence of god? No. The plagues, stoning deaths, and floods were a story of the past my friend.

Ezekiel 16:49
Behold this was the sin of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness... and she did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

That is rather an easy given Scriptural forgone conclusion. The real Q is, what would it take for God not to?
