lab created diamonds are technically diamonds
a cubic zirconium is a lab created gemstone, not exactly the same thing as a lab created diamond.
lab created diamons are usually a lot mnore cost effetcive than a "real" diamond, although, you can still spend a ton if you have your synthetic diamond mounted in paltinum, for example.
you can buy them everywhere...jewelery stores, the interent,
just search google for "synthetic diamond" or "lab created diamond"

There are only a few places currently that you can purchase true lab grown diamonds (Takara, PureGrownDiamonds, D.NeaDiamonds offhand). Most places selling lab grown diamonds are simply CZ with false marketing.
There is also a lot of false info on these replies - lab grown diamonds, such as Takara lab grown diamonds which are D and E color, are both harder, purer and clearer than 98% of all mined diamonds.
To weed out sellers hyping their CZ as lab grown diamond, simply demand an independent diamond grading report accompany your purchase.
If their pricing is low (as in $100/ct) then you don't even need to bother asking since diamond cutting costs alone are higher than that...thus the low costs means it must be a softer stone and thus CZ.
True lab grown diamonds are real diamond and thus can be graded just like mined diamonds.
Video of a Takara lab grown diamond is in the source link below, so you can see how clear they are.

A lab created diamond is often cloudier than natuarally occuring gems. Go with a CZ they are as beautiful as a diamond and fraction of the cost and you can spend more on the setting, plus you know that no one died for it !

Julia's Designers on Ebay sells very GREAT quality ones. I got a 2.72 caret one for 79 dollars- and it is the whole set. No one knows the difference, and it wont chip, crack, break, or anything. I love it!!
Its not cloudy, it shines just as bright as a regular diamond and feels just as weighty as a real diamond, and in fact, no one knows the difference- even my snooty friend who only wants diamonds..
Mine is set in white gold. If you email me i can send you a picture! try there- they are very well respected and it ships to you fast. they are lab created and not CZ.

lab created diamonds are far cheaper than real diamonds. they may look the same initially, but eventually they will not look as sparkly and shiny and as beautiful as a natural diamond always will. some jewelry stores may sell lab created diamonds, but if so that's not a place you want to shop. yes it costs a bit more money, but wouldn't rather spend more one time then have to replace a fake diamond every so often?

Better to go with a CZ if your guy can't afford a diamond.

Would that be a cubic zirconia? I'm not into fake jewelry but they are just as gorgeous as diamonds for a fraction of the cost.
