The thought that...
There is a God and we must do everything he wants us to because He can judge us?
OR
There is no God and we no one is in control, no one can hear prayers and basically there is no real justice?
Curious.

I understand your feelings. I would rather have a God to hear our prayers. You know, dear one, God can forgive us for all our sins and He is ready and able to do so. Remember God loves people and He will help us in our time of need. God Bless.

There is no god and we are in control of our lives.
It is somewhat terrifying that people suffering from delusional mental disorder keep trying to spread and impose their delusions on healthy people .
Zyprexa (use only as directed, see a doctor) should help them get treated.

Both are wrong. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are forgiven. No judgment by God. We do what He wants us to do because we love Him and want to do it.
We realize that everything He tells us to do or not do is for us for our own good. We thank Him for guiding us and loving us so much that He gave His life so that we can live eternally.
He hears our prayers and our praises. He is here. However, He is just because He punishes sin. When Jesus took my place, He was punished for my sins.
I am not terrified. I have no fears.

I pick choice 3, or 4, or 5. There are more than two ways of looking at the world.

Neither. Add in there "There is a god and he wants us to spend our whole lives as his slaves. And he actually thinks we should be grateful to be his slaves" and we'll talk.
Incidentally, I'm not a child that needs someone to tell me what to do. I already know what to do. Its just a matter of whether I want to do it or not.

The idea of a God that condemns people to hell regardless of their actions is pretty terrifying.

The second part doesn't scare me in the least. you define yourself by your actions. I don't need Hell to make me moral. I am moral because it is the right thing to do.
The first part, as it is a fiction, doesn't worry me either.

There are other religoins that don't have a "God that judges."
I personally am christian, but I think that christianity is more scary than atheism.
