As far as I'm aware, my most recent royal ancestor is Edward III, King of England (on my mother's side).

This question is for those who have traced their ancestry back to at least one royal family.

Hi bubba, I'm also descended from John of Gaunt through several lines. That would make the latest king from whom you're descended Edward III, since John of Gaunt is one of his sons.

Actually I have several from Europe, but the one I am most aware of is one of the kings of Sweden (Gustav) and I also know that my great grandfather came from Sweden where he was a noble, but gave up everything to come to America.

I'm sure I'm related to the family, I just don't know how. I know we have a connection to Henry Tudor (Henry VIII) He liked to marry, and have his family marry different royalties throughout the world so he'd have it in his family. He thought it was a cute idea, so we all could have ties. Many have ties to royal families.

I suppose I'll need to settle for chieftains of a couple scot clans. Both are out of chiefs these days.

But hey, I'm umpty-something cousins with most US Presidents, does that count?

i'm vietnamese, and my dad told me our last name actually means "royal" in vietnamese. he also told some of my great-great-great-great grandfathers were officials in the palace, although he is not sure if one of them was a king. oh well, it'll be cool to know you descended from a king, if not, having a last name that means royal is good enough!

Alinor of Aquitaine. As monarchs go, she's not only fascinating for ruling one country, but for ruling two...and as a woman. I might just name my next pet after her.
