What is the #1 thing you would like to ask about Christianity (specifically, the Bible, not the individual Christians) that you still don't understand?

First, consider this: Is it possible you don't understand it because it requires a relationship with God firstly?

thanks

Weird War.

Jesus said the stories were true.

And gave a meaning behind them.

It's in Matthew

dbyell,

Dinosaurs are mentioned in Job. They're called 'behemoths' with "tails like a cedar tree" and other descriptions. It's pretty clear.

I've been questioning my faith for some time now and the main question I want answered is.

Why do you bible huggers bash people who don't believe exactly what you beileve?

I don't know how many times that I've been told that I am going to hell for even questioning my faith.

Why can't you just accept the fact that not everybody in the world in going to have the same point of view on things as you. Even though religion is pretty much based on not judging people most Christians I know that's all they do. I listen to everyone's explanation to what they believe and some what understand why they say the things they say. But all I get when I say what I believe is your going to hell! Oh yeah and "Jesus saves!" What the f***?

And for once I'd like to meet a bible hugger that would actually listen to what I have to say instead of quoting so passage from the bible that has nothing to do with what I said. It's like you can't speak for yourself you have to quote things from the bible.

Also, if you are debating with someone who dosn't believe in the bible and the only thing you have to say is a bunch of quotes from the bible, you pretty much lost your debate.

It isn't so much a matter of not understanding. I have read everything from Origen to Thomas Aquinas, the Bible in several languages and English versions, the History or Christian Thought, taken courses in Theology and even gone so far as to study, to a modest extent, the neurobiology of belief.

Among the many ideas I've encountered is the rather intriguing notion that God is unknowable, and that those who persuade themselves that they have a relationship with God are actually creating for themselves a god full of limitations.

First, no. It's not possible to have a real relationship with something that doesn't exist. It IS possible, however, to FEEL that you have a relationships with something you FEEL exists.

And I suppose these feelings would lead one to accept the "resurrection" as historically accurate because of the Bible says so... and of course the Bible is the word of the "Lord", which is obviously the word of the Lord because it says it is....

But I'd like to know why there's no proof or corroboration for Jesus' resurrection outside of the Biblical account (which was written over a century after the supposed event by questionable authorship).

1. Why do Matthew and Luke disagree on Joseph's lineage?

2. If you think Luke is giving Mary's lineage, then why would Luke give Mary's lineage without mentioning Mary?

3. Where is the Ark of the Covenant?

4. If we built a replica of the Ark of the Covenat, and a replica of the Tabernacle, could we have priests wave around beef parts and sprinkle blood on a leather seat, to hear the voice of God, like they did in the Old Testament?

Sorry, I have 3 questions...

How come there are so many other religions if Christianity is supposed to be the one true belief? How could Moses be 900 years old? How do dinosaurs fit into the story of the Bible?

Yes. How come Christians think that Eve is the sole reason for getting Adam and Eve kicked out of Eden and why do the Christians think that women are cursed with menstrual cycles and pain in childbirth and that all women are not to be trusted and inherit this "Sin"?

You're assuming that the people that don't believe in god automatically do not understand christianity, I think that's quite a bit presumptuous, especially considering that statisically the higher in education that a person goes the less likely they are to follow a religion.

I think it's this sort of mentality that pushes people away from christian culture, thus creating non-believers.

why are you the only way the truth and the life like those who wrote the bible claim and why not give more then one way to heaven and just say that it's easier to get to heaven by accepting you instead of saying that only those who accept you get into heaven when there are many good hearted people who have not done anything wrong who will be burning in a fiery pit with teeth gnashing and gnawing for choosing a different path

Why do Christians expect the world to believe in a religion based on a book? What proof besides the bible is there to actually tell me that Christianity is worth it. Can you prove it *without* the bible?

I do not understand how people can possibly believe that their is a God up *there* and heaven and everything you do, he sees. It's just a load of bull to me.

I don't see how the bible is any different than any other folklore or mythology. It is all just explanations of phenomena that people do not understand.

that is probably not what you were looking for but i thought i would throw in my two cents
