I want people to enjoy my wedding reception but I would like to set an ending time of 9pm, so that my "clean up crew" has plently of time to clean up. What is a nice way to word an ending time on my reception cards?

If you start serving coffee and kill the music at say 8:15pm and people will get the hint. If you want to say somethign specifically on the program or invitations maybe something like "reception end spromtly at 9pm" if there is an after party somewhere else you can have the attendants spread the word during the reception as to when and where.

Most of the time, coffee service and turing the lights up are signals that things are winding down. The bridal couple leaving is a big sign as well. Another signal is the "clean up crew" or caterer's clearing plates, cups, food, etc and gathering up center pieces. If you're having a DJ or band they can announce the last song. This will be a signal that things are ending.

I've never seen an ending time printed on a reception card and I've seen a lot of wedding invitations. However, if it's something you're set on doing, simply state, "Reception to follow from X:00 to 9:00."

Just put a time frame.

Reception to follow

Embassy Suites Hotel
555 Main St
Anywhere, CA

Six O'Clock until Nine O'Clock

I would say the set time like
Please join us for a reception from Five o'clock until Nine o'clock
in the event room at the Marriott Hotel.

There is nothing wrong with putting times down.

Just put on there that the ceremony is at ... time and the reception is from ... to 9. I would rather know what time it ends that to have to guess all night anyway

I'd say something like "venue rental ends at 9" or reception from whatever time - 9 pm. then let whoever is cleaning up start cleaning.

Reception from 6:00-9:00 pm. You don't have to explain, and if you leave before your guests (as in "going away") they will tend to leave sooner.
