Is it true that if you are/were bulimic you can't have kids? My fiancee has been telling me how excited he is to have kids once we get married. He knows that I have/had an eating disorder, but he still has hope. He always tells me how important it is for him to have a son. He's the last one to carry on his last name, he wants a boy to carry it on when he's gone. I want to have kids with him. He's the love of my life. I just hope i can get pregnant even though I've been "sick". I stopped, but it always comes back. This is very serious. I dn't need a smart mouth in here telling me crap.

The best idea is to call a doctor and ask him/her... because even though I really like yahoo answers, you'll get a lot of answers that are crap... and a doctor would know best.

If you are bulimic, you can get pregnant. If you do get "sick" a lot when you are pregnant, the child will not develop properly and can have many problems because of the lack of nutrients that you are not providing. I suggest that you get help for your eating disorder before you become pregnant.

I've studied eating disorders and I've not come across that being a side effect but then again u should talk to ur doctor if it's a real worry for u.

You should go to the clinic. Get medicine to stop you from throwing up, you can still get pregnat and have childern but if you don't keep the food down they might die. It'll work out if you get help keeping it down or if you can do it yourself.

Please ask your dr. on this one. Also, does this man realize that it's up to his "part" to make a boy or a girl? The man is the one who's genetics, etc. determine boy/girl babies. Take care.
